The route is well marked out and follows the natural ridge which separates the Federia Valley from the Livigno Valley. From the highest point – at 2778 m.s.l.- one can enjoy a unique view of the surrounding mountains (i.e. Ortles Cevedale, Cima Piazzi). M. Pettini Baitel del Cantone - Carosello 3000 middle station 2932 The first part of this route takes you to the peak “Mont da li Resa” at 2858 m.s.l. From here one can enjoy a breathtaking view of Livigno and the surrounding mountains. The Val Nera Glacier and the peaks of the Paradisin, Ortles, Cevedale and Bernina ranges can also be seen from this point. Near to the top one can also admire a statue of the Virgin Mary who seems to protect the village. Nearby one can find the “’Involt de li Resa” a bivouac shelter entirely built in stone. The route is perfectly marked out and it is suitable for well-equipped trekkers. Whilst walking it is possible to see numerous chamoises, ibexes and sometimes even eagles and lammergeyers. Duration

This is an simple and entirely downhill path suitable for both bikers and hikers. Starting from the mountain hut Carosello 3000 one can easily descend on a dirt road crossing the Alpine pastures up to a deviation leading to the Plan da la Montanela. This path is great for a simple excursion. Since the route is entirely downhill, a good pair of trekking shoes is highly recommended. From the mountain hut Costaccia, one needs to follow the easy and well-marked path to the Crosc da Valandrea, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of Livigno. Once here, you simply need to follow the route towards the village, crossing a beautiful stone pine wood to the glade Plan da la Golp and then onwards through a centuries-old larches wood to the middle station of lift “Livigno Centro – Costaccia”. 2,13 Km

This long and pleasant descent through the Val Federia can be enjoyed both on foot and by mountain bike. From the mountain hut Carosello 3000, one need to follow the easy dirt road leading to the “Laghet” (Lac Salin) and then proceed towards the valley on a well-marked path which crosses the typical Alpine fields, rich in flowers and plants to the the Cheseira da Fedaria. From here, one shall follow the road which crosses the Val Federia. Near the “Fontanon” we advise to take a path which leads to the “Bocheta da Casciana” and then through a mountain pine wood to the typical huts of the Val Federia. From here one will then be able to enjoy the beauty of Alpine fields and forests which continues up to the arrival point: Ponte Calcheira, just a steps away from the bus stop (Parking P3).
