LGBTQ CENTER OF DURHAM THE NORTH CAROLINA GAY + LESBIAN FILM FESTIVAL (NCGLFF) IS PROUD TO PARTNER WITH THE LGBTQ CENTER OF DURHAM ON BOTH WEEKENDS OF THE 2015 NCGLFF.

A safe and inclusive community committed to supporting and celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer identified people in and around Durham, the LGBTQ Center is currently renovating its future home at 114 Hunt Street in the city. The new facility isn’t scheduled to officially open until NC Pride in September, but it will be available for a sneak preview during a special post-NCGLFF event. The Carolina Theatre and LGBTQ Center of Durham will co-host two free screenings of Out To Win (US, 99 min) at the Full Frame Theater at American Tobacco Campus in Downtown Durham. This important documentary, which made its world premiere at this year’s South By Southwest Festival in Austin, is a superbly crafted overview and examination of the lives and careers of aspiring and professional gay and lesbian athletes from all over the world. LGBTQ CENTER OF DURHAM BLOCK PARTY SUNDAY, AUGUST 23: NOON-4 P.M.

The LGBTQ Center of Durham will co-host a block party with the Carolina Theatre/the NCGLFF at the center’s new location at 114 Hunt St. in Durham from noon to 4 p.m. on Aug. 23. Food trucks, dancing and fun will be expected as the friends of the LGBTQ Center of Durham, the NCGLFF and the Carolina Theatre party away the afternoon. The center will be open for a sneak preview by the general public for the first time ever. NCGLFF FREE FAMILY FILM SATURDAY, AUGUST 15 | 10 A.M.

The NCGLFF will host a free family film screening of The Wizard of Oz (US, 1939, 101 min) on Saturday, August 15. Starting at 10 a.m., families are welcome to stop by the Cinema Lobby, where an entertaining clown, fabulous face-painting, cool balloon art and a BASF slime-making station will await them! The film screening begins at 10:45 a.m. in Cinema One. This MGM film classic is sure to thrill children of all ages, as Dorothy and Toto meet characters of all sorts on their way through the magical Land of Oz. Free popcorn and soda will be provided to all who attend.
