Carmen is a modern film photographer, yet considers her most important job to be a wife and mother. She spent four years traveling around Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia acting and directing. She uses many of these skills and experiences in her photography.

Her faith in God inspires her to help others. She is an advocate for Sole Hope (www.solehope.org), a foster parent and volunteers at her church.

Although originally form Australia, Carmen and her husband live in the Pacific Northwest, with their three children.

The Process I love the process of film photography.
!
It slows me down and forces me to pay attention. I try to frame everything perfectly in camera. I love to help with direction but I also thrive on those magical photojournalistic moments. Although I do photoshop things like blemishes and stray hairs. I don’t believe in over editing or altering body types.
!
I love what I do. I not only put countless hours into my photography, but my heart and soul as well. I strive to be an artist not just a wedding vendor.
! Once I photograph a wedding: ! - I send the film away to get it developed and scanned. ! - About 2-3 weeks later I receive gorgeous hi-resolution images. !
- I share a photograph on Facebook or Instagram within 1-2 days after I’ve received them.
!
- I post a preview of your wedding photos to my blog 2-3 weeks later.
!
- I spend the next month editing, organizing and packaging your beautiful wedding collection.
!
It takes time (2-3 months from your wedding day to delivery of photographs) but it’s worth the wait!

Helpful Planning Advice
- Plan some time in your day to relax.
!
- Keep in mind when planning, that natural light is very flattering for photographs.
!
- Add an extra 30-45 minutes to everything. - Triple any commute times. - Get your hair and make up done before your bridesmaids.
!
- Encourage your guests to enjoy your ceremony and put away their cameras.
!
- Try to limit flash photography from guests and strobe lighting during the reception.
! - Compile a list of photographs you would like with family members. ! - Having a “first look” is very helpful, it often reduces pre-wedding nerves and allows more time for photographs.
