Auction Guidelines Silent Auction begins at 5:00 pm and the bidding will close in sections. Live Auction will begin at 7:30 pm. Items are on display in the Ballroom. • Upon entry, each guest will be assigned a bid number. • To bid on the Silent Auction, write your bid number on the bid sheet accompanying each item on the table. • To bid in the Live Auction, hold your bid number up for the auctioneer to see. • In the Silent Auction, designation of your bid number by the auction committee as the top bid is a legal contract to purchase that item. • In the Live Auction, a bid acknowledged by the auctioneer is a legal contract to purchase the item. • At the close of the Silent Auction, the auction committee will collect all bid sheets. The highest bidder will be recorded and no further bids will be accepted. • Auction items will be awarded to one purchaser only. A purchaser who wishes to split the payment for the auction items must collect the individual payments from the other bidder(s). The entire payment must be presented at check-out in its entirety. • All purchases are final and there will be no exchanges or refunds on items unless otherwise noted. • Unless otherwise noted, all goods and services must be claimed within one year of issuance. Further disclaimer information: Successful bidders must make arrangements for the removal of all items at the conclusion of the auction. The Chamber of Commerce assumes no responsibility for such items following purchase. Arrangements for donated items must be arranged between the donor and the purchaser. The Midlothian Chamber of Commerce accepts no responsibility for condition of items sold and no guarantee, except that the manufacturers, which is neither expressed nor implied. All Sales are FINAL.
