Equity Equity is an increasingly important lens through which to view health issues. The VDH’s Equity at a Glance Dashboard provides a scorecard that highlights income and poverty, educational attainment, food access, unemployment, broadband access and housing insecurity by locality in comparison to Virginia42. When looking at the Franklin County data analyzed by race/ethnicity, people reported to be Black or African American earn less than white people by over $10,000, while people reported to be Hispanic or Latino earn less than half of the income of white people. These wage gaps are smaller in Henry County but people reported to be Hispanic or Latino earn $10,000 less than white people43.
