Zoo 2 U was in Tofield on Wednesday July 12 at the Tofield Arena.

The summer programs in Tofield worked together with the Tofield/ Beaver FCSS to have the event put on for the kids.

“It was a partnership with the Town of Tofield Recreation Program and the Tofield Municipal Library program,” Tracey Boast Radley, director of FCSS said.

Over 120 kids and parents were in attendance to be informed and inspired by Melinda and her assistant Ally of Zoo 2 U from Sherwood Park.

Many reptiles including a tortoise, a snake, geckos, and a bearded dragon were among the showcase Zoo 2 U brought, along with some parrots and a rabbit.

Some kids had the opportunity to hold or feed the animals during the program, and all the children had a chance to pet some of the animals at the end.

Melinda was a great entertainer and had the kids enthralled for the hour long program. Zoo 2 U has been part of the summer program in Tofield before, but not in the last few years.

“I know that it's come out, but not in the last few years for sure because of covid and everything. So, first time in a while,” Boast Radley said.

“I think we'll definitely be bringing them back.”
