There’s a lot going on in Harlem these

days, particularly when it comes to fashion. Once again during NYFW up and coming fashion designers had the opportunity to present collections at Harlem Fashion Week. Among the featured designers were; Adama Paris, Alhassan Toure and Banni Peru. Harlem Fashion Week was hosted at the Museum of the City Of New York on 5th Ave. at 104th street in Manhattan. This 5th annual event was attended my audiences excited to see the shows and get a look at what the vendors had on offer. Among high profile companies such as Sephora; there were also brands launching their new products such as new lipstick line - The Sexiest Beauty. Harlem Fashion Week has also been involved with raising funds for charities working to improve the lives of people in the community and the diaspora. In addition to the runway shows fundraising events are also part of the Harlem Fashion Week schedule. The proceeds from the events go to support two charities: Uptown Dance Academy, located in Harlem, and the Senegalese American Bilingual School, located in Senegal, West Africa. Designer Paris Adama from Senegal opened the show that featured 20 designers. Guests were able to check out all the different vendors during the show intermissions. There was certainly plenty to engage the senses at Harlem Fashion Week. We can’t wait for next season
