Guyana trade Tourism Investment Expo 2014 ctober 30th was the Grand Opening of the 2014 Guy Expo at the Broward College North Campus Omni Auditorium. The Grand Opening was attended by the Honorable Dr. Jennifer Westford, Minister of Public Service, Republic of Guyana, Broward’s own House Representative, District 95 - the Honorable Hazelle P. Rogers, Mayor of Broward County Board of County Commissioners - the Honorable Barbara Sharief, Mayor of Coconut Creek – the Honorable Lisa K. Aronson, Guyana’s Honorary Consul General – the Honorable Ramzan Roshanali, Chairman & CEO of Guyana Office for Investment (Go-Invest) – Mr. Keith Burrows, Dr. Avis Proctor – President of Broward College North Campus and many more including members for the diaspora and the attending business owners and representatives from Guyana. This evenings program and Expo including all activities was chaired by Mr. Wesley Kirton, who also served as the evenings Master of ceremonies.
The evening’s presentations and acknowledgements were extremely informative and great details were provided about the investment opportunities that exist in Guyana as presented by the Honorable Minister Dr. Jennifer Westford. There was a tremendous display of authentic Guyanese products including rice, candy/ sweets, seasonings, pepper sauces, leather shoes, belts, jewelry and craft; designer garments by Guyana’s top fashion designers including Sonia Noel, Carol Fraser, Andrea Braithwaite, Halyconz Enterprises, beautiful locally made furniture by Guy-America, original hand paintings by Bryan Clarke and unbelievable wood carvings by Halvard Sealey and many, many more products both handmade and factory manufactured. It was truly an amazing display of products proudly made in Guyana.
