Secretary Andanar lauds Sumilao LGU for achieving community immunity Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar on Monday lauded the municipal government unit of Sumilao for being the first in Bukidnon to achieve community immunity against COVID-19. Secretary Andanar attended a turnover ceremony of health kits and gift baskets to women frontliners here, where Mayor Jose Antonio Villo told him that 76% of their population eligible for inoculation were vaccinated already. “Congratulations, Mayor Villo. This is really a good leap of development, especially that we are looking at celebrating a better Christmas this year with the intensified rollout of vaccination drives in all LGUs across the country,” Secretary Andanar said. The turnover ceremony is part of the PCOO’s Gender and Development Program which supports the 18 Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women. Sumilao, Bukidnon is among the municipalities in Region 10 with barangays who benefitted from the banner program of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) and the Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP).
