The COVID-19 pandemic has placed significant strain on physicians. Words of encouragement mean a lot to physicians at any time. When they are received during a pandemic, they can be the balm to a weary soul. In late February, and during the entire month of March, the Capital Medical Society Foundation received Honor A Doctors' Day tribute gifts to recognize National Doctors' Day. The tributes encouraged recipients and provided additional funding for the Capital Medical Society Foundation. Grateful patients, colleagues, family members, and friends participated and generously supported the CMSF's programs and initiatives, including the Area of Greatest Need, the We Care Network program, and the We Care Network Endowment.
The COVID-19 pandemic creates ongoing challenges for physicians, medical students, medical practices, and hospitals. The CMSF is especially appreciative of all donors who gave to celebrate Honor A Doctors' Day. Patients, families, and colleagues are proud to support dedicated physicians working together to improve health. It is a pleasure to share a few of the many personal words of gratitude that will describe the positive impact these physicians have in the practice of medicine. We appreciate many of the donors allowing us to share their tributes publicly.
Rosalie Carlin honored Maribel U. Lockwood, M.D. with the following comment:
Temple Robinson, M.D. honored her colleague, Alma Littles, M.D. with these kind words:
“I want to be like you when I grow up.”
