Making a Travel Reservation

Trading Places travel reservations may be made through the Capital Vacations Club online portal or by calling Owner Services. The Trading Places Tier and applicable fees will be displayed online or provided by the agent during the booking process and then collected at the time of booking.

The Trading Places Tier selected to pay for exchange travel is consumed in its entirety. There are no refunds or credits given if the Tier value of the selected resort is less than the Tier value used to pay for the reservation. Conversely, if the resort is greater than the Tier value in your wallet, you will be required to upgrade your Tier using Season Upgrade(s).

Search for Exchange Travel

Effortlessly search the exchange network and real-time availability all over the world through your Trading Places website. Search by destination and travel dates or get inspired searching beach, mountain, or regional recommendations. Explore the resort network map to find your next dream vacation.

Once you know your destination and travel dates, simply enter them in the search tool to see instant travel options. All resort availability is returned along with the unit sizes, Tier rate, and applicable fees.

Deposit your Ownership

Trading Places offers flexible deposit options to fit your needs. All current use-year Capital Vacations Club points are eligible for deposit including Club, Bonus, borrowed, and Aspire points. You may also rent additional Club points and use them within Trading Places. Once you deposit your Club points into the Trading Places, they are automatically removed from your Club account. All deposits are final and cannot be moved back to your Club account once deposited. All individual Tiers expire after 5-years from the date of deposit and will be removed from the account after such time.

Deposit And Travel

If you know the Global Exchange Tier required for your vacation, simply deposit sufficient Club points to receive the equivalent Tier based on the Global Exchange Tier chart. All deposits may be made online or by calling Owner Services. With a Global Exchange Tier in your wallet, you may then use it to pay for the week-long vacation during the booking process.

5-YEAR EXCHANGE DEPOSIT

If you are unable to use your Capital Club Points for any reason, you may deposit them in the Global Exchange converting your Points to a Tier credit. The Tier credit may then be used anytime in the next 5 years.

Exchange Assurance is coming soon – watch for more details - for Trading Places reservations. When available, cancellations will result in more favorable refund policies so your Tier is protected in case something unexpected prevents you from traveling.

Exchange Confirmation

Upon booking exchange travel, on-line or by phone, you will receive a confirmation email with all travel details of your reservation. It is recommended that you save the confirmation communication and bring it with you when you check-in at your resort.

Canceling a Reservation

You may cancel your Trading Places reservation by calling Owner Services at 844-777-2582 Monday to Friday 9AM—7PM EST and Saturday 10AM—5PM EST. Refunds are determined by the number of days until the check-in date which is deemed the “cancellation window”. Refunded Tiers will be deposited back to your Trading Places account. Exchange fees are non-refundable.

Occupancy of Property

Trading Places reservations must be booked by the member(s) named on the Club member agreement, and the names of the individual(s) checking-in to the exchange resort must match.

Guest Travel

Guest Travel certificates are available to assign the exchange usage to another person.

If you’d like a friend or family member to be able to travel using your Trading Places deposit, you can do so by calling an exchange representative. There is a small fee of $49 for using a guest certificate.

Checking-In to Exchange Resort

Be sure to bring your confirmation with you to the resort when you check in. If you cannot check in during the resort’s normal check in hours, you must contact them at least 24 hours in advance to make arrangements for access to the property. If you plan to arrive after your scheduled arrival date, you must contact the resort directly at least 24 hours in advance to avoid cancellation and forfeiture of related Trading Places currency. Resorts have specific rules that must be complied with and can be furnished by the resort in advance. Resort terms are usually displayed when booking your exchange travel. Resorts are generally non-smoking and do not allow pets. Additional resort fees may be charged upon check in. They are usually displayed in the resort info on the Trading Places website but it is recommended that travelers contact the resort to confirm.
