Now in its 15th year, Slice of Life has become a District tradition. Pie sellers and Pie teams come together to raise money to ensure neighbors facing serious illnesses can enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving meal complete with two delicious pies. Each is baked fresh by gourmet bakery Whisked and picked up on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving at conveniently located sites. Shaw’s Outdoor Family Story Time

On Nov. 13 and 27, at 10:30 a.m., enjoy stories and songs with the wee ones at family story time for ages birth through five. These 30-minute story times are full of books, songs, rhymes and finger plays. They are a great way to introduce your child to language skills in a positive and fun environment.
