Whether it’s the first thing or the last thing you purchase, a rug can dramatically change a room. Choosing the right rug is a very personal process–it should look right in your space, feel right in your space and work in harmony with your furniture and accessories. With more than 10,000 varieties of textures, styles and colors, we know we have the right rug for you. Here’s some advice from our top style guru for choosing rugs for your most essential rooms:

1 working rooms. Most working rooms like the office,

the mud rooms and the laundry room consist of large expanses of flooring and cabinetry—be they gorgeous or utilitarian—they’re usually crying out for comfort and warmth. And, an area rug is the perfect place to start.

2 living rooms. Living rooms are, in fact, where we “do” most of our living. Living rooms demand a rug that wears well and will even look better over time. And what better to do that with than a luxurious handmade Capel rug? Choose from over 600 delicately hand knotted and hand tufted designs— you’ll be creating a fabulous family room and a family heirloom.

3 bedrooms. Area rugs provide a point of interest in

your bedroom, a soft landing for your feet and keep the chill away from your toes in the winter. If your bedroom already has a lot of color and busy patterns, a solid color bedroom rug or a simple pattern will look better.

4 kids’ rooms. When considering a rug for a kid’s room, style should not have to take second place to durability. Capel offers lots of options for outfitting nurseries, bedrooms and playrooms with the perfect rug—and, they’re all built to last. 5 for every room. From nurseries to playrooms, to
