100 Women of Richardson Launches Inaugural Meeting
Community News 100 Women
of Richardson Launches Inaugural Meeting

Women of the neighborhood! We’re excited to share a new charity organization with you. It was started with some of your neighbors right here in Canyon Creek.
100 Women of Richardson is a new charity organization for women started by three Richardson residents. They were inspired by similar organizations in nearby cities. On Nov 1, 2018, founders Cayce Ashby, Cheryl Croall, and Hayley Harris held the inaugural meeting for this newly formed group.
At this meeting, group members donated $11,400 (well above the goal!) to the Inclusive Playground project managed by Richardson East Rotary Club and the City of Richardson. Due to another grant to the Rotary Club from the Rees-Jones Foundation, the 100 Women of Richardson donation was matched for a total of $23,000.
The concept of this group is to meet three times a year for one hour. During this hour, members hear from three possible beneficiaries, then choose one to receive the donations from that meeting. Each member writes a $100 check on the spot. It’s a great way for the women of Richardson to make a huge impact without a huge time commitment. Perfect for busy women and mothers!
The first meeting included 45 members. The hope is to grow the group to at least 100 women who are passionate about making a difference where we live!
The next meeting will take place in Q1 of 2019, then one meeting takes place each quarter of Q2 and Q3.
For more information about the group, visit the website at 100womenofrichardson.com. Click the “Membership” tab to sign up with the group (there’s no fee to sign-up! You bring your donation check to each meeting.)
You can also see photos from the first meeting on the 100 Women of Richardson Facebook page. Ladies, we look forward to seeing you at the next meeting!
