Outside of schools and sports, what do you do for fun, hobbies, work, etc.?
who also loves science!
year you are in school.
My name is Colton Izard. I currently attend Christian Educators Academy, and I’m currently in my senior year of high school.
What other schools have you attended?
I went to elementary school at Aldridge Elementary. I attended Wilson Middle school for my 6-8th grade years, then I completed my 9-10th grade years at Vines High School.
Tell us what sport you play and why you enjoy it.
I play soccer and not only enjoy it, but I love it as a way for me to express myself and escape everything else going on to just enjoy myself.
Brag on yourself: Tell us your honors and awards in school and for your sport.
Academically, I was accepted into the National Junior Honors Society and achieved Academic Excellence awards for 9th-11th grade years. I also achieved the A/B honor roll all years of middle and high school. I earned a Community Service award in 9th grade. Last year, I served on the student council. For sports, I was captain my freshman year of JV soccer, and as a sophomore I was one of two sophomores on varsity. I’ve qualified for the Dallas Cup Final, and I competed in Gothia Cup (Youth World Cup) in Sweden. My team won the Plano Labor Day tournament, State Cup, Texans Fall Festival, and we were a Regional Championship Finalist. I also competed for the Texas State ODP team against other state teams of our region.
What’s your favorite subject in school (your sport doesn’t count!)?
My favorite subject would have to be science as I just find the way the world works and the unknown to be really interesting. Being able to discover new things on and outside our planet’s sphere is something I’ve always loved to learn about and do.
Outside of school and sports, I enjoy what most high school kids do and that’s just hanging with my friends having a good time. I love exploring and seeing cool places as well. But, the bottom line is when

How long have you lived in Canyon Creek?
I moved to Canyon Creek when I was roughly 7 years old from Austin, Texas so I was never far from the place I’ve called home for almost my entire childhood.
What do you love most about living in Canyon Creek?
I love how everyone here is really a community and people truly know each other and interact with one another. I know dozens of people in my neighborhood and see them constantly walking around and just enjoying the area. The convenience of everything is really nice too, since you can really walk or ride your bike to everything if necessary.

Tells us a favorite story or two about a big moment or fun moment playing soccer.
The biggest moment thus far that I can remember was the summer going into my junior year of high school. During this summer, I had the Regional Championship tournament in July to qualify us for the National title. The tournament had been crazy. The first game we won 3-0 comfortably but, then in the second game we suffered a 3-2 defeat. All we had to do was tie or win the next bracket game to advance to the quarterfinals, which probably wasn’t a great mindset to have walking in to this game.
We ended up going down 2-0 pretty early on, which put us in a bad position. We were able to get one point back, making it 2-1, but the game was almost over with only about five minutes remaining. With about a minute and thirty seconds on the clock still down 2-1 and facing elimination, my teammate whips a ball that hits off a defender’s shoulder, landing right at my feet. About twelve yards out from the goal, I smash the ball into the bottom right corner with my right foot sending
us to the quarterfinals and eventually we made it all the way to the finals.
