In the Kitchen Scary-Easy Yummy Halloween & Turkey Day Treats by Teri Hebert
Maybe you need yummy treats for your big party or Thanksgiving gathering. Or maybe you want something to munch on while you sit in the dark and hope no trick-or-treaters come ring your bell. Whatever your fall holiday treat needs might be, try these ideas:
Pumpkin Patch Brownies From delish.com
Take a pear and just about any fruits and veggies to create a healthy treat in the shape of a turkey. Feathers and all! You can add pretzels
Ingredients:
1 box brownie mix, plus required ingredients 1 c. white chocolate chips 1 tbsp. vegetable oil Green food coloring 1 can chocolate frosting 1 c. crushed Oreos Pumpkin candies
• Preheat oven to 350° and line a 9-x-13" pan with parchment paper. Then grease with cooking spray. Prepare brownie batter according to package instructions. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake until a toothpick has moist crumbs, 28 to 30 minutes.
Let cool completely. • In a small bowl, combine white chocolate chips, vegetable oil, and green food coloring. Microwave in 30-second intervals until melted. Stir until smooth then transfer to a small Ziploc bag and cut the tip of one corner to pipe. • Spread chocolate frosting over the brownies, then sprinkle with crushed Oreos. Using the green chocolate, pipe vines over the surface of the brownies, then scatter pumpkin candies on top of the brownies.
Pearly Turkey

• Slice into squares and serve. for legs or a bit of cheese for some of the feathers.
It’s cute and creative, and it will help offset the infl ux of candy and sweets in your child’s system throughout the Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays!
Nut-Free, Gluten-Free, and Dairy-free Alerts
Because we are a community who takes care of each other’s families and kids, we want to be ever vigilant of nut, gluten, and dairy allergies for children (and adults) who need to avoid these foods. Before your party or gathering, take a few minutes to clearly label foods that contain gluten, nuts, or dairy so your guests know which foods to enjoy and which to avoid. Also label any homemade treats given to trick-or-treaters. This will help parents know which treats to keep for themselves and away from the kids when they go through the trick-ortreating haul after they get back home.
Have a delicious fall holiday season!
