newsroom@nsnews.com

THE RCMP in North Vancouver are looking for witnesses to a hit-andrun incident that occurred at a North Vancouver restaurant. A car knocked down a 52-year-old North Vancouver man at the McDonald’s drive-through restaurant at 1219 Marine Dr., just after midnight on Saturday, Oct. 23. The victim sustained minor injuries following the incident, and got himself inside the restaurant to alert the authorities. Cpl. Peter DeVries, spokesman for the North Vancouver detachment, said the vehicle contained four passengers.

“The driver didn’t stop, and the car was described as a small white car, possibly a Toyota.” DeVries is urging the other passengers in the vehicle that night to identify the driver. “There’s also information that there were some witnesses in the parking lot at the time that this happened, and we’re asking that anyone who was there and saw this happen will come forward,” added DeVries. There may be some damage to the driver’s side of the white vehicle, and DeVries asks that any body shops that may have worked on a car matching this description recently call the RCMP. North Vancouver RCMP are asking anyone with any information about the vehicle or the driver to contact Const. Jana Jardine at 604-985-1311 and quote file number 2010-29612. stepping on it.” There was a sea of empty 40-ounce bottles of liquor and piles upon piles of hoarded unnecessary goods. And as their half-sister was unable to use the washroom by herself, Prentice said there was excrement all over the floors from her overly full diaper. Prentice says that he and his brother tried for decades to get the Children’s Ministry to investigate their mother, even talking to their elementary school about her behaviour in 1987. He states his mother was able to duck below the radar by appearing to be an excellent parent. “(She) ran a daycare, a licensed daycare. And had her kids in sports from an early age. Everything looked normal if you were looking far from the outside.” After years of feeling neglected by social services, he felt the media was his only option. “What it pretty much takes is going to the news I guess. I tried to get the story out for two months. “It took me going up to the back of a van the other day that was doing a live segment to finally get this out.”
