St. Andrews United Church plans to offer a calming retreat for harried commuters.

Port Moody church to host ‘commuter’s sanctuary’ Jennifer McFee jmcfee@thenownews.com It’s 5 o’clock on Thursday afternoon and the rush-hour chaos is already churning. Work-weary commuters gripe in gridlock, multi-tasking to distraction during their drive. Parents frantically shuttle kids from school to lessons to sports to clubs, rushing to somehow show up on time. Frenzied shoppers roam from mall to mall in search of the perfect Christmas gift, slapping

down credit cards to forget the cost. But wait. It doesn’t have to be this way. There can be calm amid confusion, tranquility in turmoil. A commuter’s sanctuary does exist. You can find it at St. Andrew’s United Church, which is offering a peaceful reprieve from the harried holiday season on three Thursdays leading up to Christmas. Rev.
