Cannon Couples Love is in the air! Sure, our students spend a lot of time studying for tests and writing papers, but many also started dating while at Cannon School and turned those relationships into lifelong love stories. Read on to meet five of our Cannon couples who met in our hallowed hallways! Robert Adams ’07 & Chelsea Foxx ’10 As is the case with many high school relationships, Robert and Chelsea’s started with…a snarky comment. “I was looking for a printer and Robert happened to be walking by on his way to soccer practice,” said Chelsea. “I asked him where the second-floor printer was located, and he looked at me and very sarcastically said ‘...on the second floor?’ I felt like such an idiot for asking a cute senior this question!” At that time, neither Robert nor Chelsea ever would have dreamt that their banter would mark the beginning of a relationship that led to marriage, multiple military assignments, and a baby named Eli (who, according to Chelsea, looks just like his daddy). The pair got engaged in 2013 and married in Charleston, South Carolina in 2015. After Robert graduated from Campbell University’s medical school in 2017, the two were sent to San Antonio, Texas, for his first military assignment, and they are now stationed in North Dakota. Robert, an officer with the United States Air Force, is a physician for B-52 bomber pilots, and Chelsea is an RN in labor and delivery with goals of becoming a licensed nurse practitioner. Robert just returned from a six-month deployment overseas and has accepted an emergency physician position in Virginia so the family will be moving in June. In addition, baby #2 is due this March! “It’s been a crazy ride,” said Chelsea, “but we’ve been enjoying it all along the way.” 28 | CANNON | Winter/Spring 2020
