Fantasy Adventures

Offered by: Jessica Zingher Ages: 3-5 Cost: $190 In this camp, actors will use their creative instincts and explore storytelling through drama, role play and storytelling. Campers will use their bodies and voices to help tell stories through drama games and songs about their own favorite fantasy characters. All campers will make their own costumes and props. Improv Comedy

Offered by: ACT - ACTivate Community through Theatre Ages: 9-12 Cost: $152 Create a trunkful of characters in this fast-paced short form improvisation class. This is a class for students who love to act ‘on the spot’ and for those who want to learn the skills of quick thinking as an actor. Students will present an improv comedy with a few surprises. Offered: Week 2 PM

Improv on the Go

Offered by: Matthew Charity Ages: 12-16 Cost: $190 Campers will learn the fundamentals and concepts of improvisation through exercises and games that help develop strong ensemble and character work. Campers will spend time being creative, spontaneous, shredding nerves and many other important & fantastic skills. Kids will be educated and entertained! Offered: Week 3 PM Week 7 PM

A. We ask that you email the Camp Cannon office and let us know the date & time that the camper will be picked up, so that we can have the camper ready upon your arrival.

Monster Fun

Offered by: Jessica Zingher Ages: 3-5 Cost: $190 Do you have a favorite monster? Do you like to pretend? Then, this is the camp for you. Campers will use drama to help bring out their creative ideas. They’ll work on their monster moves & voices as they help bring their favorite monster to life. Children will make their costumes and props. Offered: Week 3 AM

Musical Theatre (in a Week) Offered by: Jessica Zingher Ages: 6-10 (Week 5)

Cost: $360 11-13 (Week 7) Cost: $360 Campers get the chance to take center stage in this popular theatre camp! Campers will work on their acting and singing skills while working with their peers to create a one-of-a-kind performance piece. Actors will perform a musical theatre revue based on songs and scenes from popular musicals. Offered: Week 5 Full Day Week 7 Full Day

Peter Pan® and Wendy

Offered by: ACT - ACTivate Community through Theatre Ages: 8-12 Cost: $190 Join Wendy and her brothers as they fly to Neverland with Peter Pan® and his friend Tinkerbell. A production camp, adapted from the book, filled with pirates, fairies, lost boys and a crocodile. Campers will learn basic skills of mime, character creations, vocal work and improvisation and present a short play with costumes. Offered: Week 5 PM

Q. Do I have to pack a lunch for my child?

A. Campers with us from noon to 1 p.m. can bring lunch from home or purchase hot lunch from Camp Cannon. See more details in the LUNCH & SNACKS section on page 45.

Rockstartopia

Offered by: Drama Kids Inc. Ages: 7-11 Cost: $190 Does your camper dream of touring the country in a rock band? It’s time to rock it out in this camp. Join your new band to record your new #1 hit, play in a concert for fans, and let your inner-rockstar free. Campers will act out scripts and hone public speaking skills, work on ensemble-building exercises, and especially bring out their stage personas by working on expressive techniques. Let’s Rock! Offered: Week 1 AM

Shakespeare: Outside the Box

Offered by: ACT - ACTivate Community through Theatre Ages: 11-16 Cost: $360 Witches, Warlords, Kings, and Queens. Stage fighting, costumes, makeup, acting and learning how to speak the language of Shakespeare are included in this exciting ‘outside the box’ adaptation of Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’. Campers will perform a 30-minute play set ‘inside a video game’ using music from favorite video games. Offered: Week 4 Full Day

Youth Rock Orchestra

Offered by: Davidson Violins, Inc. Ages: 11-17 Cost: $380 This is not your average orchestra camp. Students will participate in rock orchestras, playing electric instruments, work with professional musicians, play challenging and fun music, learn to improvise, and become familiar with the modern technology driving the music industry. The Friday presentation will be held at 6 p.m., so students will stay to prepare for the concert from 4 to 6 p.m. on the last day. Offered: Week 6 Full Day

Animals Alive

Offered by: Rendi Powers Ages: 6-8 Cost: $152 Excitement abounds in this returning favorite session “alive” with animals! Campers learn about small animals’ habitats, food likes and dislikes, play and exercise needs, handling technique, and much more. Camp includes enjoyable crafts and science experiments, too. Bug Bonanza

Offered by: Little Scholars Ages: 3-5 Cost: $190 Are you ready to bug out? Explore the world of bugs as you sing songs, create crafts, and complete math and reading activities focused on the lives of these crawly creatures. We’ll learn about ladybugs, bees, spiders, and many more as we have fun getting buggy! Offered: Week: 7 AM

Crazy Chemworks

Offered by: Mad Science Ages: 6-8 Cost: $200 This action-packed camp explores the chemistry of everyday life! Campers will learn real lab techniques and safety procedures through the week to mix crazy concoctions. They will experiment with super sticky-stuff, explore glow-in-the-dark technology, mix potions, and make slime! Offered: Week: 6 AM

Destination Earth

Offered by: Mad Science Ages: 5-9 Cost: $200 Campers will have fun with hands-on experiments that will increase their understanding of our good ship Earth! They will learn how animals are camouflaged and go on the hunt for scents and tracks as they take walks on the wild side of science. Offered: Week: 7 AM

Digging Back Through Time

Offered by: No Ordinary Summer Camp Ages: 6-10 Cost: $190 Take a trip back in time and discover the history beneath our ground. Campers will become paleontologists for the week and enjoy discovering different types of artifacts, which campers will take home as keepsakes. Offered: Week: 4 AM

E-STEAM: Women in Science

Offered by: Little Scholars Ages: 9-12 Cost: $152 The moon landing, Bluetooth, new varieties of dinosaurs…did you know that women scientists played critical roles in these discoveries? Dabble in a bit of science, math, and engineering all while learning about fascinating women who have made important contributions to the world of science. Offered: Week: 2 PM

Extreme Animals

Offered by: Little Scholars Ages: 9-11 Cost: $190 Who is the most dangerous animal on earth? What is the weirdest animal adaptation? What creature is resistant to venom? You’ll find out all of this and more as we learn about the world’s most extreme animals. Campers will build their science and language skills as they debate and conduct experiments regarding these crazy creatures. Offered: Week: 5 AM

Genealogy 101

Offered by: Mark Kmidowski Ages: 11-15 Cost: $190 Campers will utilize Cannon’s Upper School library and use resources such as Ancestry.com, Fold3, and Newspapers.com. Other US Government resources such as the US Archives and the Library of Congress will be employed. Students will also research & share family recipes and traditions. The class finale will be an artifact book about each camper’s family tree and a “potluck” lunch where students may bring in a family dish to share. Offered: Week 4 PM
