Canungra’s Got Talent Canungra’s biggest Talent Quest attracted entrants from as far as Warwick as well as a range of local talent. Organiser Kerry Austin congratulated all performers on their acts and thanked everyone who assisted her in making the day a success. Judge Bren Dalby said the judges were all “sensationally impressed”. “Each of us was taken with different acts but there was one performance we all agreed on and that was Kailee the Contortionist. Unbelievable, and had the crowd totally absorbed,” she said. The winners on the day were: First half of the show: 1st place: Inspire Studios-Mini Jazz 2nd place: Tamiki 3rd place: Emma-Jane Collins Second half of the show: 1st place: Kailee Behrendorff 2nd place: Ashleigh Cosgrove 3rd place: Mercedez Austin, Emma Connelly and Monique Toohey. On the Canungra’s Got Talent Facebook page, Kerry made special mention of school bus driver Emily Spurr who formed the Pine Creek Bus Choir. The children sang on the bus on the way to and from school and performed with Emily (singing and playing guitar). For many of those children it was the first time they had performed in public. Country music duo Dubbo Turner and Annette Williams travelled from Warwick to perform several classic country songs for the crowd. Other performers on the day were: Mercedez Austin; Obie Austin; Chevy
