The effort undertaken by the Cannes Bel Âge PIG and the quality and diversity of the activities it offers was recognised once again this year by the Regional Committee for Retired and Elderly People (C.O.D.E.R.P.A.), which placed the Town of Cannes at the top of its regional ranking. In 2013, the PIG will be continuing its work to meet the needs of this public which spans several generations, and in view of the results of the Standardised Gerontological Evaluation carried out in partnership with the University Department for Sciences and Techniques for Physical and Sporting Activities (U.F.R. S.T.A.P.S.), 12 new activities will be proposed in the eight Bel Âge clubs. Trails of varying difficulty will be organised in the town, and a new health trail for senior citizens will be created as part of the green way in Ranguin. Additionally, films lasting 13 and 26 minutes are to be produced in collaboration with BTS Audiovisuel students from the Lycée Carnot. These films will focus on a Bel Âge member who tells his story and discusses his vision of life, and will be the first step to creating a digital library based on Bel Âge’s collective memory.
