MMC First Process has long experience as a total supplier for washing systems. We offer tailormade automatic systems for flushing, soap dosage and pipe cleaning. Our automatic washing solutions ensure good hygiene routines with high quality washing.

Manual washing of storage tanks is tough, time-consuming and risky. OXYGEN AND OZONE SYSTEMS

MMC First Process offers a range of oxygen gas generators to be installed onsite for all industrial oxygen applications. You can produce your own oxygen on demand, which eliminates the need of liquid oxygen supply or filled cylinders.

MMC First Process offers a range of ozone generators used for disinfection of pipes and tanks on fishing vessels, wellboats, hatchery, processing plant on shore and aquaculture in general. Injecting ozone into water is a method of disinfection and cleaning that provides unparalleled results for the elimination of bacteria in water and wastewater. It also improves profitability and boosts environmental protection. With ozone there’s no need of chemicals to keep tanks, pipelines, gratings, surfaces and RSW systems clean. A correctly designed cleaning and disinfection plant is rational in use, efficient and has low operating costs. Ozone can also be utilised in combination with other cleaning methods.

The MMC First Process “tank system” defines all details regarding the fishtank. The tank design is critical for achieving good fish health, and MMC First Process focuses on optimal circulation and an even distribution of oxygen throughout the entire tank.

To quality assure that the geometry, position of inlet(s), outlet(s) etc. are optimal, CFD analysis are completed to analyse the fluid flows.

RONJA STORM - REFERENCES

MMC First Process have years of experience in supplying complete systems for wellboats. Together with our long lasting and trusted customer Sølvtrans, we are proud to receive positive feedbacks from fish farmers about meeting their highest fish welfare requirements. Ronja Storm even set an unofficial world record of 729 tons of Atlantic Salmon, the customer claims.

With 7450m3 of fish hold volume, Ronja Storm was by far the biggest wellboat when she was delivered in 2019. The vessel is equipped with a complete system solution for fish handling and fish welfare and water quality monitoring system from MMC First Process.

Our main focus is design and implementing turn key solutions for fish handling. Water quality systems from MMC First Process provide fish welfare, biomass security and quality.

The vessel is designed for loading and unloading by under- and over-pressure, securing smooth transition of fish between tanks without any mechanical pumping. Straining the water off and making the vessels water supply a single source, resulting in zero water pollution. Every drop of water from the huge fish holds are filtered before UV-treatment to clean the water before pumping it back to the sea.

MOVABLE BULKHEAD SYSTEMS

MMC First Process movable bulkhead system builds on reliable high technology for the purpose of transporting live fish between tanks or out of the tanks. The Movable bulkhead system is located inside the fish tank. Our systems can be installed inside well-boats or onshore waiting tanks. A sustainable solution designed to ensure best possible fish welfare. Created to decrease the level of stress throughout the process chain. A stress-free fish retains maximum quality from catch to customer.

In general, the live fish tanks are either rectangular (longitudinal) or circular shaped. The longitudinal movable bulkhead moves horizontally through the tank and is perforated to let water flow through it as it displaces the fish towards the suction nozzle. When the main movable bulkhead is in its end position, two smaller auxiliary bulkheads (respectively transverse and vertical bulkheads) help to vacate the tank entirely.

MOBILE ENSILAGE SYSTEM

A mobile system that conserve the dead fish quickly and secure when/if an outbreak of a disease occurs, or a deadly algae invasion happens.

The system is run automatically. This will reduce the possibility of improper use or accidents caused by human failure Good access to heat, as well as heat recovery from surrounding equipment, will ensure that the autolysis process is started quickly inside the 10m3 storage tank. The system has a high capacity, with automatic acid dosing. The bin tipper with electrical cable for chain heating, ensuring that the bin tipper will function on ruff winter conditions.

The system can run round the clock, and ensilage is automatically pumped into a vehicle or boat that carries it to the onshore receiving facilities. MMC First Process also offers its own transport/storage containers. These containers have an integrated storage tank with a circulation pump to ensure that the mass is well mixed, and the same pump can be used to pump silage into the receiving facility’s storage tanks as needed. RSW SYSTEMS

MMC First Process is a total supplier of refrigerated sea water (RSW) systems with a wide capacity range based on natural refrigerant. AUSTRALIS - WAITING TANKS ONSHORE

Bremnes Seashore is recognized for the fantastic quality of the SALMA products. This is due to increased fish welfare in the waiting tanks and to the gentle handling of the raw material.

Ensuring good water quality control thru regularly checking the oxygen saturation and temperature secures that the salmon will recover faster after being pumped from the wellboat.

When using waiting tanks, the wellboat pumps the fish into the waiting tanks, and can then leave the harbor. This means that the wellboat does not have to stay in the harbor until the slaughterhouse has received all fish. At the same time you avoid the use of waiting cages in the sea, and this also leads to increased control and biomass security.

The fish welfare you achieve through i.a. correct temperature before slaughtering, and subsequent filleting of the fish before it is in rigor mortis, gives a super fresh product.

MMC First Process RID pumping system is a new and innovative spiral pumping system. This sustainable pumping system is specially designed for gentle pumping of seafood in chilled water. During pumping the seafood is not in contact with any exterior environment except chilled water. Chilled water is a decisive factor in preservation of premium seafood quality.

TUNNEL FREEZING

MMC First Process has long experience with delivery of complete freezing systems for seafood. We deliver tailormade solutions in different sizes of efficient and powerful freezing tunnels. The systems are based on natural refrigerant NH3 and CO2. Our goal is to create energy-efficient systems that preserve product quality by freezing raw materials in a time efficient way.

Our sustainable tunnel freezing systems can be installed in combination with a cold storage. This combination creates higher flexibility and capacity for freezing and storage. Our freezing systems are developed in close co-cooperation with our customers worldwide. We also supply cooling systems for cold storage.

The H2O2 and Medicine systems enables an accurate dosing according to recommendations and by synchronization with the circulation system an accurate treatment time will be achieved. CARTON DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS

MMC First Process Carton distribution system is a very fast and flexible system for both lids and bottoms and can be equipped with pneumatic pushers. We design complete carton systems for gluing machines and carton erectors. The open design make maintenance and regular operation easy.

Service areas are strategically placed on the systems for making it easy to monitor the carton erecting process. The system has proven its ability out in the market and the feedback have been overwhelming due to the tailored deliveries.

The system is designed to reduce manually handling. The design of the distribution system, the erecting system and the carton magazine combined with the easy access gives the personnel an easy task in operating this system.

RECEIVING AREA

MMC First Process has long experience as total supplier for pelagic processing plants. The raw materials are fragile products, demanding gentle handling during process. That’s why we offers a wide range of adjustable receiving systems, customized for our customers requirements.

The distribution of fish from boat through weighing and grading can be done with vacuum pumps, traditional conveyors RID-pumps or hoppers. A combinations of several systems is also possible if requested. Receiving include a weighing of the total catch before the grading and future processing can start.

Sustainable handling is always our highest priority during transport of seafood.

PALLET ORGANIZER

When the stacks with pallets arrive the factory, the pallets are stacked every other upside down To save space during transport The Pallet stacks must therefore be organized in the correct way and re stacked before they can used in the seafood production.

Fish Welfare Approved Program

– on terms set by the fish

The Fish Welfare Approved Program is about identifying the characteristics of our products and systems and identifying any modifications needed to maximise fish welfare

We screen the present set-up and the interrelationships between sub-systems. We look at the materials being used and how they affect fish health. We examine our design, development and manufacturing processes so that we can install products and systems that are as hygienic as possible and cause minimum physical damage to the fish. The goal is for the fish to be handled with care throughout their life span, in order to produce top quality food that commands the highest possible price.

Our work involves identifying how each system and its parts function in practice and, not least, the likely consequences of any changes. For example, we have invested considerable time and effort in our CO2 deculators. We have looked at what happens by way of chemical processes in water, when water quality, temperature, amount of biomass etc. are varied. By doing this we develop and document our understanding of the characteristics of our own products and their tolerance limits, while simultaneously identifying any modifications needed to improve the system.

A full-scale testing station is an important factor input for us and its uses have included testing the CO2 deculators. Valuable data was obtained, which we are carrying forward into further development work.

Our own testing station

Our testing station consists of a large water tank and circulation system with powerful circulation pumps that can move big quantities of water, simulating a real situation. It includes a water sampling system and samples are logged using our FISH WELTECH INSIGHT - the brain of the system - which we use to extract data and the signals from the testing station. This system is vital for collecting data from all the sensors and means that we can compare all the different tests and think continually about further development and optimisation.

In the testing station we can test many different products and systems and we can try out variations and flexibility in their use. This is all part of being able to adapt and optimise the characteristics of our products as regards fish welfare, biomass security and product quality.

Being able to replicate and repeat the tests again and again enables us to diagnose and pinpoint, for each product, its positive or negative impact on the KPIs of Fish Welfare and Biosecurity. This progressive testing allows us work towards the best outcome for the fish.

Identification at the product level

We also have good ideas and expertise, enabling us to see improvement possibilities, so that we can take them up with customers, or our product development department, to pioneer new methods in the seafood industry on terms set by the fish and by nature.

Our technical department is the product owner. It develops new or modified designs based on the challenges and problems experienced by our customers, whether driven by formal statutory demands, or by their own desire to improve quality and fish welfare. The testing station forms the link between the two of them and our own R&D department, as we gain fact-based expertise on which to base our decisions.

Not just an owner, but also for hire

A key factor for us is close cooperation between product owners and “problem owners”. The latter are often our customers and they face environmental and welfare challenges, not least from the authorities through laws, regulations and directives. The way things usually work is that a customer has a need, wish or problem and comes to us for help and support.

In addition, some of our customers and partners have also come to us to test their own ideas and products, where our expertise, the Fish Welfare Programme and the test station have helped to verify the actual properties. In this way we can jointly document the value added through improved fish welfare and the expected quality improvement in the final product. The Fish Welfare Approved Program has become a key part of our developmental structure. It provides important support to our sustainability drive as this is the stage where we can really make the big differences and enable others to make informed, documented choices for fish welfare and sustainability.
