Our Travellers, Our Storytellers
Back in the 14th century, the Berber Maghrebi explorer Ibn Battuta said “Travelling- it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller”. In the 21st century we still love travelling, despite the obstacles that the pandemic is putting in our path at present, and we still love telling about it.
Here are some of the stories which my students shared with me about their trips. Enjoy them!

Snow and Sun
Last weekend, I went to Andorra for a short ski trip with my daughter.
We went by plane to Barcelona on Sunday morning and we arrived in Andorra in the afternoon. The next day, on Monday, we went to Grandvalira ski resort and we spent all day in the snow.
The weather was fantastic, but one morning the top area of the ski resort was closed because it was very windy, so we skied at the lower area. In the afternoons, we went shopping or visited the town.
Finally, we returned to Menorca on Thursday evening and we were very tired!

Last December, I went to Valencia with my husband. We stayed there all weekend.
We visited our oldest son. He’s a doctor and lives there because he is working in a hospital. When we arrived at the airport, he was waiting for us with his girlfriend. She is a doctor too. Together we went sightseeing in the center of the town.
On Saturday, we visited S’Albufera. It’s a beautiful place. Then, we went to a famous restaurant, where we ate a delicious paella. After that, we went shopping and visited a big market, where we drank “horchata”. Very nice! At night, we went back to the hotel walking across the main street.
On Sunday, my son drove us to a large beach. We walked there for two hours and, later, we had some lunch at a restaurant. Then, we went to the airport and finished our lovely weekend. In the afternoon, we flew back to Menorca.

Madrid Captivates
On the 14th of January, I traveled to Madrid with my husband.
On Saturday morning, we went sightseeing in the center and we went shopping. I bought a pair of leather boots. In the evening we went to the theatre to see Tina Turner, The Musical. We had a very good time! After that, we went to a restaurant near our hotel to have dinner. We stayed at a comfortable and beautiful hotel, only five minutes from the “Museo del Prado” and “Parque del Retiro”.
The weather was warm in the morning, but very cold at night and I needed my scarf and gloves!
On Sunday morning we went sightseeing again and we visited the “Museo del Prado”. We loved all the pictures that we saw, but we were tired! Finally, on Monday morning, we came back to Menorca. We had a very nice experience!
