My favourite things DOG Django (a groodle) was our first baby well before Poppy came along. He’s so well behaved and has really taken to being a big brother.
SURFING I started surfing a few years ago. I love it and try to hit the waves as often as possible.
FAMILy Starting a family with Pip has been the best thing I’ve ever done. She and Poppy bring a whole new meaning to my life; it’s amazing.

GOLF I can’t say I’m a pro, but I love getting out for a few rounds. It’s a great way to do something relaxing while getting a bit of exercise – perfect for a day off during the season.

Canberra will always be home for St Kilda forward Josh Bruce. Born in the nation’s capital, Bruce played for the Greater Western Sydney Giants before moving to the Saints at the end of 2013. While he’s now made a home in Melbourne with fiancée Pip and new daughter Poppy, Bruce says he always loves to get back home. “So many of my friends and family still live in Canberra, as do Pip’s, so we love getting back there. It’s taken on a whole new meaning since becoming a father. TRAVELLING We’re lucky in footy to get a fair bit of time off every year. It’s a bit different now with a baby, but we try to travel as much as possible. I’ve done a few surfing trips overseas which were great.
SOUTH COAST, NSW Pip’s family has a holiday house just down the coast and we try and go there every time we can. It’s the perfect place to forget about the business of life and just spend time with friends and family.
