Harvie Ranching’s 10th Annual Bull Sale Hello Fellow Cattle Breeders, It is exciting to be hosting the 10th Annual Harvie Ranching Bull Sale. On this 10th year, we want to acknowledge our deep appreciation for the great customers, friends and family who continually support our program. The cattle industry is built around hard working, knowledgeable people who strengthen communities and nourish our growing population. As seedstock producers, we count ourselves as very fortunate, to have a role to play in this important industry. This year we are hosting the bull sale with Harvie Crest Cattle Company and KT Ranches. They will be offering a great selection of Simmental, SimAngus and Angus bulls. Scott and Kerrie now operate as Harvie Crest Cattle Company and manage the purebred side of KT Ranches. This combination of Harvie Crest Cattle and KT Ranches will give you a larger, more exciting group of quality Simmental and SimAngus bulls to choose from. At Harvie Ranching, we continue to focus much of our energy on building strong cow families and we do not plan to change that proven philosophy any time soon. You may have noticed over the last many years, that we use one of our top sons from the previous year in our sire groups. We do so, because we believe in our proven bloodlines and want to ensure these bulls consistently offer results to our clients. This year, we assure that the bulls are sired by industry leading sires, mated to our top cow families. These combinations allow for new exciting genetics, an array of options backed by our proven cow families. Through HerdTrax and breed management tools, we monitor and select for fertility, calf vigor, mothering ability, calving ease and performance. In saying so, we look forward to visiting with you, and guarantee you’ll find the bull that best suits your program within these three breeds. In Hereford news, we had one of our strongest years to date at the 2018 Canadian Western Agribition (CWA), winning five division champions, Reserve Grand Champion Female, Champion Get of Sire, Champion Breeders Herd and Premier Exhibitor. We also sold Harvie OVHF Empower 5F ET who was the high selling bull at Agribition of all breeds, and you will get a chance to buy a full brother to him and several paternal brothers in this sale offering. As we look at the Hereford offering, we are pleased to see the largest group of calving ease Hereford bulls we have ever had on offer. On the Charolais side, the breed is seeing growing popularity, seen with char cross calves looking incredibly attractive and fetching premiums last fall. The Charolais breed saw exceptional breed sales also with growing demand and excitement. In the offering this year, we have a large selection of moderate birth weight bulls that have lots of performance and efficiency.
