Maureen Levone Ragosin

February 6, 1958 ~ December 5, 2016 We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Michael Joseph Clifford Cuthbert on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the age of 58 years after a brief and courageous battle against cancer. Michael will be sorrowfully missed by the love of his life Doris Hoffman Cuthbert of Camrose. Theirs is a love of eternity. Michael will also be sadly missed by his parents Lillian and Daniel Cuthbert (Victoria, BC); his children Sharron (Kyle) (Mannville, AB), Michelle (Pat) (Winnipeg MB) and Michael Jr. (Diane) (Winnipeg, MB); his sisters and brothers Beth Bacon (Ron) (Winnipeg, MB), Andy Dellabough (Chip) (Moose Jaw, SK), Dan (Edmonton, AB), James (April) (Winnipeg MB), Paul (Susan) (Kamloops, BC) and Debbie (Darren) (Victoria, BC). Michael will also be missed by his grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Mike will be missed by his many friends throughout the Camrose area and northern Alberta. He was predeceased by his brother Donald. Doris, Dan and the family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Cross Cancer Clinic in Edmonton and the doctors and nurses at St. Mary’s Hospital in Camrose for the care and respect our Michael received. We would like to thank Cam at Burgar Funeral Home for the dignity and care he has shown Michael and us. We would especially like to thank our sister Tammy and brother Glen for everything they have done for Michael and for us during a difficult time. Orin Elvin Sand May 15, 1921 ~ December 5, 2016 Mr. Orin Elvin Sand, of Edberg, AB, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the age 95 years. Left to cherish his memory are his sons Melbourne (Michelle Berg) of Edberg and Bob (Mavis) of Sherwood Park; sister Jean Stewart of Calgary; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service was held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. November 12, 1943 ~ December 5, 2016 Maureen Levone Ragosin was born on November 12, 1943 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Camrose. She peacefully passed away on December 5, 2016, also at St. Mary’s Hospital at the age of 73 years. Maureen is survived by her husband David; children Wayne (Joanne) Rolston, Sharlene Annis, Aaron (Jean) Ragosin and Michele (Murray) MacArthur; grandchildren Mackenzie, Carter, Bennett, Paris, Paloma, Liam, Lochlain, Kyle, Devon, Randee and Dillon; sister-in-law Jessie Weiss; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Maureen was predeceased by her father Herman Nelson; mother Henny Nelson; previous husband Bill Rolston; as well as brothers Melvin, Lorne and Larry. She spent her youth growing up on a farm between Kingman and Hay Lakes. Maureen quit Dinant School at an early age and moved to Camrose to work at Bethany Nursing Home. She also spent many years working as a retail clerk at many local stores including Brody’s Department Store, the Betty Shop, SAAN, Pearson’s Five to Dollar Store and D&S Fashions until retirement in 1990. In 1963, Maureen married Bill Rolston. Living in Camrose, they had two children Wayne and Sharlene. In 1979, the Rolston family moved to an acreage near Armena and lived there until Bill’s sickness, whereby they moved back to Camrose in 1986. Soon after, Bill passed away, losing his battle with cancer. In 1990, Maureen married David Ragosin in Camrose. Dave’s children, Michele and Aaron, as well as Wayne and Sharlene were groomsmen and bridesmaids at the wedding! Maureen enjoyed many activities including gambling, dancing (especially the polka), bowling, snowmobiling, fishing, car rallies, travelling, playing cards, camping and socializing with family and friends. The coffee pot was always on! She also spent many years volunteering in the community. She participated in organizations like the Lioness Club of Canada, Probus Club of Camrose and the Sons of Norway Drill Team. Maureen was a fun loving person who enjoyed life to the fullest! She was always grateful to all family and friends who shared many good times and memories with her. A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. from Camrose United Church with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. Interment has taken place in Valleyview Cemetery, Camrose. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to STARS (Edmonton Base) or to the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation. To send condolences, please visit www.burgarfuneralhome.com.
