Welcome to the Lake Ridge Boys Soccer Program! This year I am excited to start another chapter in our program history which will bring lots of opportunities for our players and parents on and off the field. We are entering our 7th season at Lake Ridge in which we have made the playoffs every year. Keeping our program strong is something we take pride in from the JV to the Varsity, we want everybody to excel in our program. Different players will play different roles throughout the year and neither role is more important than the next. Wins are great, but at the end of the day soccer is just a game and we want to grow strong young men that will be great contributors to society in the future. BOY’S SOCCER COACHING STAFF
HEAD COACH
CORY ELOLF Coach Cory Elolf is entering his 7th year as the head coach at Lake Ridge. He was previously the head coach at Arlington Martin high school for 4 years prior to opening Lake Ridge. During the previous 10 seasons, he has an overall coaching record of 156 wins 50 losses and 37 ties. Elolf has guided the Lake Ridge soccer program to the playoffs every year with district titles in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Under Elolf’s guidance, the Eagles have an overall school record of 92-29-22, and its best playoff finish was in 2016 and 2018 with a Regional Semi-Finals appearances. Coach Elolf teaches Professional Communications and is in his 12th year of teaching. Born and raised in San Antonio he spent most of his childhood playing soccer in the Classic Elite and Lions clubs. Cory Elolf graduated from Texas State University where he was also an All American punter for the Bobcats in 2004, and won the 2005 Southland conference championship. In 2006, he earned an undergraduate degree in Exercise Sports Science with a minor in communications and in 2007, a Masters in Physical Education with a specialization in Sport Management. Cory Elolf is married to his beautiful wife Emily and they have one daughter named Sloan.

Coach Robert Turley is entering his 7th year at Lake Ridge High School and his 29th year in coaching. He had a previous coaching stint at Arlington Lamar of 15 years of which seven years were spent as the JV soccer coach. He has led the JV Eagles to 2 district championship and one 2nd place finish in five years. Coach Turley Graduated from the University of TexasArlington, and he teaches English IV. He is married to Kelly and they have two sons, Parker and Jackson.

Hey Lady Eagle soccer fans, The Lady Eagles soccer program seeks to develop character and leadership skills though the game of soccer. We emphasize work ethic, positivity and unity to be successful on the field and in the classroom. We are looking forward to another cold, successful season. Your support is appreciated. I hope you enjoy watching the Lady Eagles as much as I enjoy coaching them! The theme for the 2019 season is Realize it. Many times people and groups are told that they have potential. The definition of realize is to become fully aware of (something) as a fact; understand clearly or to cause (something desired or anticipated) to happen. We want to do both this season: be fully aware of our goals and potential as well as make our desires (goals) happen. While having potential is great, being able to realize your potential is even better. This year we seek not to just have potential to be successful, but to take action and reach the great potential that this team has. We will train our minds to think positively, our bodies to go beyond our comfort zones, and our hearts to dig deep even when we feel we have nothing left. By making these action steps, we will realize our potential!

The team played in two tournaments at the beginning of the season, a showcase in Highland Park and the Duncanville Classic. During these tournaments, the team built chemistry and were determined to play though even the most difficult circumstances. During district, the Lady Eagles played hard every game. Each athlete gave her best to contribute to the team’s pursuit of victory every Tues and Friday night! We ended the season with a 14-6-4 record and a district record of 11-2-4. We were co-district champions in district and went on to play Burleson, Molina and Joshua in our playoff run. We will definitely miss the determination of the 2018 senior class. The Lady Eagles look forward to the opportunity to continue their legacy of excellence and to grow as leaders, teammates and young women.
As always, the parents are a huge supporter of the program, and we would not be as successful without them. We appreciate everything each parent did whether it was volunteering at the concession stand, decorating the locker room, hosting team dinners, taking pictures, being a part of the senior night committee, or just simply cheering for the team.
Our student trainers and manager did an awesome job and without them it would have been challenging to stay healthy. We were able reflect and improve on our play because the manager filmed our games. We are truly grateful for the support we receive from the parents, other Lake Ridge sports’ teams, coaches and community. Go Eagles!
