On March 4th, 2023 Francisco “Tito” Newby completed his Eagle Scout service project at CAMP Camp!

Tito first came to CAMP as a camper in 2012. From the first week Tito spent at CAMP with Maddeline, his buddy, he fell in love with CAMP. He looked forward every year to spending another week out at CAMP. Tito also fell in love with the outdoors and in 2016 joined Boy Scout Troop 345. Through hard work, Tito steadily rose through the Boy Scout ranks and was soon close to the rank of Eagle, the highest achievement in Boy Scouts. When the time came to pick an Eagle Scout project, Tito immediately knew where he wanted to do it.
The Eagle Scout service project is the final task a scout must complete before earning his Eagle Scout Rank. According to Boy Scouts of America, the Eagle Scout project should reflect who you are as a youth leader. Tito’s passion for the outdoors and love of CAMP made him determined to serve the campers at CAMP through his project.
In 2019, CAMP installed a Giant Swing thanks to the Tres Grace Foundation! The Giant Swing quickly became a favorite for campers, who got to experience the thrill of rising almost 50 feet into the air and swinging around. When Tito saw that the instructors running the Giant Swing had no shade cover, he decided to do something about it.
Tito quickly raised the money to purchase materials, coordinated with his fellow scouts and adult leaders, planned his design, purchased his materials, and set to work. It took Tito two workdays to complete his project. Through Tito’s hard work, perseverance, and leadership CAMP gained an excellent shade structure for its instructors.
Thank you Tito!

Thank you to everyone who attended Party at the Park - 15th Annual CAMP Gala. It was a smashing success as we raised nearly $200,000 that will directly impact CAMP’s mission year-round.

Moving the date from the fall to the spring presented a few challenges but you responded and the Gala was amazing! After collecting feedback from the community, we plan to continue the cocktail party format, but with a more formal dress and atmosphere. Additionally, we are moving the event back to the weekend to ensure CAMP’s out of town friends can attend. We can’t wait to see you on March 22, 2024 at the 16th Annual CAMP Gala!
Anticipation for the Total Eclipse is sky high!
On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing directly over Camp CAMP, located in Center Point, Texas. This is the last total solar eclipse that will be viewable from North America this century!

A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, completely blocking the face of the Sun. The sky will darken as if it were dawn or dusk. This is a unique opportunity not to be missed!
A limited number of day passes will be sold to the CAMP family and public. Tickets are $100 for adults and $50 for children (12 and younger) and include entrance onto CAMP's property, glasses to safely view the event, access to planned activities throughout the day, and more. Please note that food trucks will sell optional breakfast and lunch throughout the event.
Purchase your tickets today before they are sold out by visiting: https://campcamp.org/eclipse
