Works are to be undertaken outside normal working hours. Access to roof is by permit only. Existing no-entry signage is in place. Keep access gate closed during works. Do not leave the roof area unattended without locking the gate and ladder guard.

Fixed access ladder in place for personnel access onto roof. Edge protection is in place along exposed roof edges (full height parapet wall) Remaining roof edges are enclosed by walls. Area of works is away (>2mtrs) from exposed roof edge at point of entry.

Electrical isolation and disconnection of feed cables to be undertaken by competent electrical engineers only. Electrical engineers undertaking work are qualified to comply with IEE Wiring Regulations – BS7671. Isolation is to be provided at the main isolator at the HVAC panel to isolate the entire panel affording full isolation to the entire AC installation. Isolations to be carried out in accordance with PP-EAW-03. DO NOT remove incoming cable terminal shrouds whilst working inside panel. DO NOT leave the panel unattended with cover removed. Keep plant-room door locked closed.

Manual Handling (Heaviest load approx 120kg condenser unit)

Hi-Ab equipped lorry with sufficient over-reach to be provided for lifting condensers on/off the roof to eliminate requirement for manual lifting. Genie lift will be used for lifting units down and onto wall brackets on the flat roof area.

Hi-Ab lorry to be supplied by pre-approved hirer. Supervisor to check lifting equipment (including slings) test/examination certificates are current on arrival. Supervisor to check Hi-Ab operator and slinger banks-man training certificate/competency card prior to commencement. All lifting operations are to be supervised by the banks man. All loads are to be prepared or checked by the slinger/banks man before they are lifted.
