Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation offers humane education programs that enhance respect and compassion for animals. Camp ARF is a wonderful experience for animal lovers who are interested in having fun while learning more about their furry friends! All camp fees help support ARF’s lifesaving programs!

TK/ KINDERGARTEN

Little Paws Little Paws Camp is a wonderful experience for children entering Transitional Kindergarten or Kindergarten. Campers discover the world of animals through hands-on activities, games, and “critter crafts.” Daily visits with ARF therapy animals provide a perfect opportunity for young campers to practice gentle hands and learn safe animal interaction. Campers must be 4 years old or attending TK/ Kindergarten in Fall 2016. All campers must be toilet trained. $215 per camper. Weeks of 6/20, 6/27, 7/18, 7/25, and 8/1

GRADES 1-2 Animal Heroes How have animals helped humans throughout history? How would our lives be different without our animal companions? Animal-themed activities, games, crafts and daily visits with ARF therapy animals help campers explore the human/animal bond while learning about compassion and pet care. Campers even adopt life-like plush animals to help bring lessons to life. $215 per camper. Weeks of 6/13, 6/27, 7/11, 7/18, and 8/8

Does your child dream of becoming a veterinarian? ARF’s Vet Camp gives campers the opportunity to explore the veterinary world up close. Through handson activities and demonstrations, campers discover what it takes to keep animals healthy. ARF therapy animals and other special animal guests will visit campers throughout the week. $215 per camper. Weeks of 6/20, 7/25, and 8/1

Mix It Up! Campers will “mix it up” as they take on a variety of projects to benefit ARF shelter animals. Activities include baking treats, sewing blankets, making toys and creating adoption posters. Daily visits with ARF therapy animals round out the fun. $215 per camper. Weeks of 6/13, 6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 7/18, 7/25, 8/1, 8/8, and 8/15 Lunch Bunch is available for afternoon campers who are also registered in the morning camp of the same week. Shelter Animal Care

ARF's Shelter Animal Care Camp gives high school students a behind the scenes look at ARF. Campers have the opportunity to shadow staff members and learn how ARF ensures the safety and health of shelter animals. Each camper will work with an ARF shelter dog as they learn reward-based training techniques. $215 per camper. Week of 8/8

Weeks of 6/13, 7/11, and 8/15

Project CARE Campers will put their collective talents to work to make a difference for ARF and animals in the community. The team will explore a variety of community service opportunities and even develop a project of their own! Daily interaction with ARF animals provides added inspiration as well as lessons on shelter rescue and care. The final session will be dedicated to celebrating the team’s success! $215 per camper. FAQ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will my child interact with ARF animals? We try our best to provide as much shelter animal interaction as possible, however, we cannot guarantee interaction with shelter cats and dogs each day. Your camper will interact with Pet Hug Pack therapy animals on a daily basis.

Will my child go inside the animal condos? Only ARF staff, trained volunteers, and people looking to adopt are allowed inside the condos. This helps ensure the health, safety, and comfort of the shelter animals.

What does my child need to bring to camp? A week prior to camp, you will receive a parent/guardian letter which explains what your child will need to bring on the first day of camp.

Do I need a PayPal account to register? A PayPal account is not needed to register and make your payment. You are able to manually enter your credit card information. If you qualify for a discount, please contact 925.256.1273 before making your payment online.

What if I need to cancel my child’s camp registration? We offer a full refund for cancellations up to three weeks prior to the start date of the camp. Within three weeks of the start date, a $50 administrative fee will be deducted from your refund. No-shows will forfeit their camp fees.

My children are in different age brackets. Can they attend the same camp? While we understand siblings often like to be together, each camp is age-appropriate for the grade range indicated. We will make sure that your children have the best possible experience and connect with campers in their session.

FAQ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does Camp ARF offer any discounts or scholarships? Yes! A discount of 10% will be applied to your camp fees if your child registers for more than one camp or registers with a sibling/friend. One discount per child. Please call 925.256.1273 to make your discounted payment. Camp ARF will offer 10 partial scholarships (up to $150) for Summer 2016 camps on a first come, first served basis. Maximum 1 scholarship per camper; 2 scholarships per family. Please email youth@arflife.org for scholarship information and an application.

Will snack be provided during Camp ARF? Snacks will be provided, however, if your child has dietary needs we ask that you provide your own snack.

Is there a waitlist for camps that are full? Waitlists are available on a first come, first served basis for each camp. Contact youth@arflife.org if the camp you desire is full.

What is Lunch Bunch? Lunch Bunch is from 12pm-1:30 and offered for campers in grades 1-5 who have registered for both a morning camp and Mix It Up! (afternoon). Registration for Lunch Bunch can be found in the Mix It Up! camp registration. Campers are required to bring their own lunch as ARF does not provide lunch. There is a fee of $40 per camper.
