the house of the circular economy and zero waste
The house of Circular Economy and Zero Waste at the Couvent des Clarisses in Roubaix aims to create a new place committed to the practice of material economy. Conceived as a demonstrative but also educational place, the Couvent des Clarisses will house new people in a rapidly expanding area of Northern France. Occupied for 3 years by the Zerm association, the Convent is in the process of being rehabilitated using a circular economy and reuse approach.

The programming project was carried out in three phases: the first phase was a study of the circular economy already present in the area in order to identify and target the actors who could be accommodated in the Convent, the second phase was a historical study of this place with a strong memory and heritage, and finally a programming study defining the different activities from the most public to the most private and the definition of the management mode of the place.
Finally, the place will be rehabilitated with a view to the circular economy since its rehabilitation to generate controlled costs and a demonstrative place to allow users to practice the circular economy too. The project is currently in the tendering phase following this programming.
