On this second debate day, GLS leaders started the daywiththeirdiscussionon whether democracy is the system of the fools.

Yesterday we left off with Nayib Bukele’s arrest, a situation other leaders used to denounce his government and democracy as a whole. The debate started with a period of lobbying where leaders could start forming alliances and proposing solutions Three different blocs formed: the democrats, including leaders such as Margaret Thatcher; Salvador Allende; and Theodore Roosevelt, the monarchs with King Leopold II; Queen Victoria; and Cleopatra, and finally the dictators with Francisco Franco; V.Lenin;and Saddam Hussein Finally, debate time started with a sentimental intervention from Nayib Bukeleleonhisarrest, whichheusedtoaccuse autocratic governments The discussion quickly heated up after that, with Nayib Bukele and Saddam Hussein engaging in a lengthy argument in which they each singled out the other's hypocrisy, and various presentations on the advantages and disadvantagesofdemocracy.

The session continued with a long lobby time in which leaders had to workontheirworking papers For working paper 11 capitalist and socialist democrats came together to solve the problems present in democratic governments while emphasizing the need for this system to persevere for the benefit of the common people. Although disregarding the notion of citizen participation in politics, monarchs in bloc 12 emphasized the need for capable and educated leaders and asserted that a concentration of power would benefit minorities Next, leaders from bloc 13, including President Bukele, Saddam Hussein, and others, joined forces to present a forceful proposal that stressed a firm hand that would result in security, stability, and no opposition Finally, topic one ended without a clear resolution due to a lack of time. Leaders are set to start discussing topic 2 for the reminder oftheday
