ILSE Jacobsen Allow us to introduce you to the woman who turned the dreary rainboot in to anything but a downer. Ilse Jacobson has done a lot of things in her life before she made over the famous (un)fair weather footwear in to a must-have closet staple, including owning a restaurant and studying political science. Now going into its fifteenth year as a global company, Ilse Jacobson boots continue to warm hearts and feet with her signature bright colors, resilient materials and perfect styling. Originally founded in 1920 as a tire company for WWII aircrafts, Palladium switched gears in 1947 after demand for their advanced rubber decreased dramatically, thanks to the end of the war. After that, they opened a footwear factory in Pont de Cheruy, France and created the legendary Pampa boot – a boot so tough, comfortable, and durable that they were worn in combat by the French Foreign Legion, an elite military unit. For over sixty years, Palladium has been producing authentic, rugged and cutting edge footwear and continues to be a world leader in quality.
