oday, many cinematographers are pushing the limits of the equipment and materials available- film stocks, lights, cameras, lenses, etc. Now, with the 35mm-4ML reflex you can break through some of those barriers. The 35mm-4ML is a compact, lightweight user friendly high speed camera, which is capable of frame rates from 10 to 200 frames per second. Its cartridge-load type magazine makes it ideal for high paced sports and action type cinematography. Yes, these cameras were originally developed for aerospace and military applications and have the ability to withstand extremely abusive environments. The 4ML camera was used in the filming of "Wings of Apache" where it was externally mounted on
an Apache helicopter and in "Top Gun" where there were two cameras internally mounted in the cockpit of an Fl4. Because of its compact size and low profile, cinematographers Mike Hoover and Don King utilized the camera extensively during the filming of "Endless Summer Il" Special water housings were manufactured for the camera, which enabled them to capture incredible surf shots in waves as high as 20 feet! Film Movement The 4ML movement uses 2 register pins and 4 pulldown pins and maintains registration to a tolerance of ±.0002 inches. In other words, it is extremely steady and ideal for matte
work. Its oiling points are minimal, which make the system very user friendly. Similar to our 16mm Actionmaster 500 camera, each magazine contains its own movement. Threading the magazine is fairly simple, and once your mags are loaded, the camera reload takes only 5 seconds. They are available in 200 loads and 400 foot loads. Size The 4ML can be easily converted to accommodate size and application requirements. There are 3 configurations. • Reflex with video tap. • Reflex only. • Non-reflex (point and shoot).
