Meet the industry actors Actors and activity types The blockchain enterprise ecosystem is composed of a diverse set of actors that carry out distinct activities. Actors and activities can be grouped into six broad categories: • Vendors design, develop, implement, and maintain the technical infrastructure powering blockchain networks and applications. • Network operators are responsible for managing and governing blockchain networks, which are jointly run and maintained by network participants. • Application providers offer interfaces for end users to plug into blockchain networks in order to achieve business objectives that leverage the utility of a shared single source of records. • A variety of other stakeholders provide tangential services and insights that benefit the ecosystem as a whole.
