Ailish and I welcomed Caitlin Ann into the world on Friday 18th April at 10.21am weighing in at 6lb 4oz and early June also saw us move back to the UK from San Diego; although not before taking part in an alumni breakfast meeting with Professor Sandra Dawson and two other alums! – Ferey Faridian (MBA 1994) and Harjit Kullar (MBA 2001).” See page 29 for an overview of this recent event.
Philip Smart (MBA 2004) Phillip Smart and his partner Hannah Jarman were delighted by the arrival of their baby boy Samuel Louis on 27 September 2007 at 4.10pm, weighing in at 8lb 5oz, born at the Rosie Maternity Hospital, Cambridge. Sam Smart was born after a relatively swift (5 hour!) labour and Mother and child were both back home after an overnight stay in hospital.

Already Sam is developing an international lifestyle and made an appearance as a guest at the wedding of Hendrik McDernott and Kristina Uffe in Toronto, Canada on 28 December 2007. Stephanie Snyder (MBA 2004) At the end of last year we were delighted to hear Stephanie moved from her role as Campus Marketing Manager, UBS to a new marketing role as Associate Director for UBS’ Global Offshore team. Jose Vega (MBA 2000) “First things first; we added Valentina to our family on Oct 8 2007. Josefina is enjoying having a sister and Mage is especially busy during. We baptised the little one last February in Uruguay. Last November, Mage graduated as an English solicitor at Bristol Cathedral. She will become a fully qualified solicitor later this year after doing her final ‘seat’ at the law firm. Because of her maternity leave and the fact that I quit my job, we managed to spend a fairly long two month Christmas break in Uruguay including a full

month in Punta del Este. Really unforgettable! I even managed to cross the River Plate and visit Rafa Gowland in Buenos Aires. I left my job in December after 6 years and started a new one at First Title Insurance on 3 March – I’m still working in the insurance sector as a business developer now covering the London market on cross-border transactions and South Europe. I’m travelling frequently to London so hopefully I will be able to see some of you.
