PPS NIGERIA

“The qualtiy was excellent, we couldn’t fault it. We liked all of the logos designed for us and struggled at first to to pick a favourite. Also the brochure is perfect”. D.Mccallan, Project Lead, PPS Nigeria

PPS NIGERIA Project: Brand, Materials PPS Nigeria is a well established company serving the oil and gas industry with a foothold in both Nigeria and here in the UK. Calm Digital was approached by the Managing Director to give the brand a new lease of life; bringing it up to date, finding a meaning that can be conveyed through brand language and the look and feel of the corporate ID and marketing materials that would serve it now and in the future. First impressions are important in Nigeria, and for this reason the corporate brochure is a key document for business in the region. The brochure brief was to present the company in a clean and professional light, giving space to the content and showcasing the different aspects of the PPSN group.

ULTIMATE HOMES & FINANCE

“I have used Calm Digital for a number of years and they have been excellent. Calm have assisted me in developing unique online systems for my business which we now could not do without. My business uses Calm on an ongoing basis and between us we have developed great technology which is above my expectations. Ian Davison, owner, Ultimate Homes & Finance and Let Ultimate

ULTIMATE HOMES & FINANCE Project: Brand exploration, Identity, Website Design & Development (content management, bespoke software development), Marketing Ultimate Homes & Finance is a residential property sales, letting and finance agency that is totally unique in that it operates a purely online business model. Calm Digital worked with Ultimate Homes & Finance to come up with a robust brand which could underpin all aspects of the business, and fit the range of products and services offered. The corporate ID was applied to both Ultimate Homes & Finance and LetUltimate, and woven through the marketing materials. The colour palette and icons have influenced elements of the web design. The websites, www.ultimatehomesandfinance.co.uk , and www.letultimate.co.uk contain a high volume of information. To manage this, call to actions allow visitors to easily identify areas which will be relevant to them. Key aspects of the site are the property search, automated feed to RightMove, finance calculator and property management tools. We also developed the bespoke iTrack systems for lettings and property sales that allow landlords, tenants, vendors and buyers to track progress, payments, and manage maintenance issues. The websites are built using Calm Content 3.0. iTrack uses Zend Framework.

SUCCESS FEELOSOPHY

“I have been absolutely delighted with the service provided by Calm Digital. It has been easy and a pleasure from start to finish. They have worked very collaboratively and patiently. The final product is a website that has exceeded not only my expectations but my ‘wildest dreams’. I hope to work with them again in the future and I would strongly recommend them to anyone.” Keef Feeley, Success Feelosophy

SUCCESS FEELOSOPHY Project: Brand exploration, Identity, Website Design & Development (eCommerce, Content Managed), Marketing Experienced learning consultant, Keef Feeley, came to Calm with an interesting proposition: to distill the essence of what he is about into a brand that could underpin his business. The vision is for adolescents, parents, and people working with children and young people to be able to access the information that Keef has spent his lifetime researching to “help everyone learn to succeed”. Keef has developed a formula – the 8 skills we need to succeed – that helps these groups understand why life poses new challenges and why young people may find difficult to cope with. Success Feelosophy gives them new tools to be able to cope more effectively. Our brief was to merge Keef’s love of classic comic strip characters with his hero, Socrates. We created a superhero for Keef himself which we named Socrates Feeley. This positions Keef as someone who can be trusted to deliver the right kind of information to his target audience – in ways they will understand. Alongside this we came up with a logo again based on classic comic strip style. The strapline really sums up what the philosophy aims to achieve.

RESILIENT POWER SOLUTIONS

“The outcome is just what we required. The Calm team are very creative and have produced a brilliant website for us. The whole process was made easy and it was a pleasure to work with everyone there.” Jenny Bartle, Resilient Power Solutions

RESILIENT POWER SOLUTIONS Project: Web (Content Management), Display Materials Calm Digital was approached early in 2010 by North-East-based Resilient Power Solutions, a company that specialises in critical power infrastructure. RPS needed a website that reflected the fact that the company is rapidly growing to become a well known name within its industry, particularly in the North East of England. The website’s objective is to make it easy for clients and potential customers to find out about services and products, and critically, whether RPS could meet their needs. We made use of the strong colour palette to bring the RPS brand to life online, making sure that the content is not overpowered by the design solution. The site is simple to navigate, and call to actions inviting people to request a quote and get in touch, urge the visitor to enquire. Phase two of this site is currently in development, which will feature a Hot Pod build tool. This will allow potential customers to build their own kit and get a cost estimate based on their specification, all online. In July, RPS was the headline sponsor for the NECC’s Tees Annual Dinner. We produced a series of impactful roll-up banners for the occasion so that the RPS brand could dominate the space.

The company operates internationally and provides operational and management services, manpower, subsea intervention and training to the oil and gas industry. REDCAR RACING

We have used the services of Calm Digital for many years. The team are very approachable and easy going, and very patient and flexible when we’ve been indecisive or changed our minds at last minute! We have a website that fits our brief completely, services our needs and those of our customers. We have received positive feedback from our clients and other racecourses on the quality of the site. The team always take a great deal of time to understand our needs whilst undertaking projects, and provide superb jargon-free advice and support. Calm Digital are an excellent company and I would (and have!) wholeheartedly recommend their services. Amy Fair, Redcar Racecourse

REDCAR RACING Project: Website Design & Development (eCommerce, Content Management) Redcar Racing needed a highly functional website with the primary objective of encouraging punters to book their raceday tickets online. Calm Digital worked with the existing Corporate Identity and brand colours to create a bold yet clean website with a simple navigation pointing punters straight to the area of the site that are of interest to them. Alongside the ticket booking functionality, there are other clever features within the sites CMS (Calm Content 3.0): group discounts and voucher codes allow Redcar Racing to track purchases, and the call to action graphic at the top of the right hand column is set to auto-update to the next feature date.

KINGFISHER MEDIA

KINGFISHER MEDIA Project: Website Design & Development (Content Management) Kingfisher produce beautifully designed hard-bound city guides that can be found in hotel rooms in key cities and areas across the UK. Calm Digital’s brief was to showcase these city guides online, to give advertisers and hotels more incentive to advertise within them. It has since been decided to target a consumer audience and advertising has been added to the site itself. The site uses Issuu to display the guides themselves, allowing the visitor to leaf through the pages. Visitors can browse each city guide and read the articles within them. Hotels and advertisers are listed for each guide, making it easy for people to make contact directly with them via the website. The site is built using Calm Content 3.0.

CULTURE DURHAM

“We had a good working relationship. All project stages clearly mapped out and the result is a very attractive Website with a wide range of functionality.” Theresa Rugman-Jones, Project Lead, Durham County Council.

CULTURE DURHAM Project: Website Design & Development (content management, user-generated content). In late 2009 the Area Tourism Partnership for Durham invited Calm Digital to tender for the design and development of a content-managed, media-rich, interactive and engaging website to gather support for Durham’s bid to become the first European City of Culture in 2013. The pitch was won, and the website to underpin the bid and gather support was brought to life with a colour palette taken from the logo designed by Stark Hartley Atkinson. Images, videos, user generated content and a culture map highlighting famous faces and places across County Durham are used to engage with the public. Messages of support were invited from the public and prominent figures were displayed on the homepage. There is also a comprehensive list of upcoming events across the County and the latest news from Durham’s cultural and creative sector. The website www.durhamcityofculture.co.uk, now www.culturedurham.com absolutely achieved its objective of generating support and underpinning the whole of the marketing drive by gathering over 33,000 sign-ups through the site. www.culuredurham.com is now used to showcase the whole of Durham’s cultural offer.

THE FACE OF TEES VALLEY

THE FACE OF TEES VALLEY Project: The Face of Tees Valley Competition Website (Content managed, user-generated content, integrated Wordpress blog) The launch of the Tees Valley’s Do Something Different campaign in 2009 required something special to get enthusiastic residents involved and shouting about why they love living in the Tees Valley. A competition was conceived that would achieve exactly this; people were asked to tell visitTeesvalley why they should become a Tees Valley ambassador, indulge in all the area has to offer and stand a chance of winning £1000. Calm Digital designed and developed the campaign microsite to drive the competition over three phases: 1. Phase one was to design and develop an engaging and inspiring competition microsite that invited people to enter the competition and upload their own video clip. The website generated a fantastic response and just 10 entrants were then selected as finalists. 2. Phase two was to showcase the 10 finalists and their videos and invite the public to vote for their favourite, which they were able to do via the microsite. 3. Phase three announced the two energetic winners of the Face of Tees Valley who each have their own profile, blog and video diary. Visitors to the site are able to follow their days and nights out to eventually vote for a winner. www.faceofteesvalley.co.uk highlights upcoming days out right across the Tees Valley, linking back to www.visitteesvalley.com for more detailed information about each.

TINDLES LLP

CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS

TINDLES LLP Project: Brand Exploration, Corporate ID, Collateral Materials, Website Design & Development (content management, eCommerce). Tindle’s Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers is a well established firm in the TeesValley that felt they needed to revamp their brand and marketing collateral. Calm Digital was chosen to help them understand the perception of their brand and core proposition and translate this into meaningful language that would give them a new way of describing the firm. This would be reflected in the fresh new Corporate ID, using a palette of fresh blues that are intended to suggest a holistic way of looking at issues and clarity of perception. Tindle’s is a firm with a purpose: to help people achieve their business vision, whatever that may be. Doing this involves offering a multitude of value-added services alongside the traditional compliance services expected from a Chartered Accountancy. The challenge for Calm was to bring these added value services to the fore, without creating boring lists. This was resolved by a series of snappy call to actions on the homepage allowing the user to navigate directly to the area of interest using tabs to select from added value services, and compliance services. The website was built using Calm Content 3.0.

JAN SECKER PHOTOGRAPHIC

“The team at Calm have great customer service and professionalism and open to your views as a client. The end result was just what I wanted.” Jan Secker, owner, Jan Secker Photographic

JAN SECKER PHOTOGRAPHIC Project: Corporate ID, Collateral Materials, Website Design & Development (content management, eCommerce). Photographer Jan Secker came to Calm Digital with a brief to create a Corporate ID and website for her brand new business. Calm Digital worked closely with Jan to explore typefaces and colours that Jan felt truly reflected her style and personality. The website www.jansecker.co.uk is designed with two objectives in mind – to showcase the imagery in a clean and contemporary way, marrying a minimalist aesthetic with the need to show a gallery of images so that the viewer can select which images they would like to buy. We built a bespoke bulk-upload function into the site CMS so that Jan could quickly and easily upload multiple images to the website. Customers can log in to view private albums, for example weddings and events and purchase images through the website which integrates Sage Pay payment gateway. The website is built using Calm Content 3.0.
