Myers, Florida just minutes away from where Henry Ford and Thomas Edison spent their winters. A Little “Taste” of History

Fun Fact: Did you know that the Hamburgers at Ford’s Garage are directly related to Henry Ford’s Success? Henry Ford visited a friend of his in Chicago, Gustavous Swift, who founded a meat packing company in 1855. Henry Ford states in his autobiography, “My Life and Work” that it was a visit to this Chicago meat packing company which “opened my eyes to the virtues of employing a moving conveyor system and fixed worked stations in industrial applications.” In the production of automobiles, it was this moving conveyor system technique (the modern day assembly line) that enabled Henry Ford and the Ford Motor Company to become the Legends that they are today. The Spirit of the original meat packing company started in 1855 still lives on in the methodology we use in creating our hand-crafted burgers at Ford’s Garage.
