From the union of Uranus and Gea - Sky and Earth – the Titans were born , two of which, Cronos and Rhea, eventually would be the parents of the gods of Olympus: Zeus, Hera, Poseidon‌ According to Hesiod's Theogony, Venus was born when Cronus cut off Uranus's genitals and threw them into the sea.
