*feeling beautiful in our hearts

T A C A N A retreat 2023 The Amazon rainforest keeps all the secrets of the Earth and is home to the spirits of the plants that have always supported the healing of humanity. Tacana retreat is a 100% real experience within an indigenous reserve on the banks of the Tacana River. We are going to stay with the community to share this experience. The „grandfathers“ will also show us Uitoto, the site where their Food and the Sacred Medicines are born. We will share the experience of these Medicines with them, as the experience of manufacturing the Medicines, that are processed and powdered to obtain the consumable Mambe from Coca Leafs, and Ambil. The journey is completed with a Yagé Session (Ayahuasca) if you feel the call and we are guided by a Uitoto Medicine Woman.

We welcome you to a unique trip into the depths of the Amazon rainforest where we reside in the company of a Uitoto family that shares their knowledge with us. We will enter enter an indigenous reserve and are invited to share the daily life in of the family in privacy. This is a unique setting and chance far away from all classical touristic offers in the region. The wisdom of the sacred medicinal plants Coca and Tobacco will accompany our journey and we will eat very traditional (Sweet Yucca) with foods from their land. The program is very open and flexibile as your heart and thoughts desire.

What you need to know. Upon entering Leticia, the airport charges a tax of 42,000 COP that must be paid in cash. From the airport to the ethnographic museum (meeting point) you can get: Walking: 2 km, 30 minutes Bus: 5,000 COP Motorcycle or Car: 15,000 COP Taxi: 25,000 COP If you arrive long enough before the meeting time, you have the opportunity to get to know Leticia, cross the Amazon River by boat, eat at the municipal market, buy handicrafts and drink exotic fruit juice in the main square that basically is just available there. Carry a light suitcase, you will be responsible for your belongings at all times and we will have long walks. Wear comfortable, light clothing that covers your limbs well (long sleeves recommended). Bring repellent, flashlight, and toilet paper. We recommend to bring an own mosquito net hence the ones available are not in good condition. Replacing these things are the exemplary projects we support with our young foundation. Take the local food plan into account, cassava, fish soup, rice, caguana a traditional cassava starch drink. If your diet requires something different and/or additional please bring it at your own expense (vegetarians and vegans). In the the Chagra Chagra on December In November16th 19thand and17th 20th we will not have access to filtered water, if you can bring purification tablets or portable filters welcome, each one is responsible for the water that they need to consume.

The jungle has several paths subject to flooding, a type of waterproof footwear or rubber boots is required. These last ones can be bought in Leticia (and be a later donation for the community). The Mambe, Ambil and Rappe are strong medicines that if used for the first time can cause "chuma" (dizziness of the spirit), that's normal and with time it goes away. Deep breathing supports the intake deeply. Please receive the medicines only from the people with whom we will be sharing in the group. People who attend the Yagé "taking", please come with a clear purpose so that our Medicine Woman Kasia can visualize and work on the cure. We say "taking" because it is not a ceremony. In the community the Yagé is part of daily life and is a plant medicine that is consulted for life and spiritual health, heals and releases parasites, ailments of the body and spirit. Everything we take must leave with us. We cannot leave any type of plastic waste in the shelter. In the Chagra we do not have electricity. Your electronic devices (cell phones / cameras) should be protected from moisture and rain. Be careful when taking photos, always ask permission. Taking photos within the community housings, the Chagra shelter and the Maloka is not permitted. We appreciate the trust and openness from the heart. See you soon at Tacana Retreat.
