The Coalition for Asian American Children and Families (CACF), the nation's only pan-Asian children's advocacy organization, aims to improve the health and wellbeing of Asian Pacific American children and families in New York City.

What does ACTION COUNCIL do?

Our goals are:

Through community building, educational events, and fundraising, the Action Council is instrumental to raising awareness among their peers and the community on issues affecting Asian Pacific American children and families.

• • •

To generate funds and resources to support CACF’s work. To raise community awareness of CACF’s ongoing mission. To promote coalition building and collaboration with other organizations that work with issues relevant to CACF.

Why should I join the Action Council? • • • •

Build relationships and network with other young professionals , advocates, and Asian Pacific American community members. Gain important leadership and advocacy skills and knowledge. Deepen your understanding of the needs of the APA community. Have the opportunity to have your voice heard and be part of creating change.

The Action Council is a critical component of the CACF team “Action Council members carry CACF’s mission and messages into their networks and communities, and are critical friend-raisers and fundraisers. Through Action Council’s events, members raise awareness in New York City about the needs and barriers facing the pan-Asian communities for whom CACF advocates. The Action Council organizes a calendar of events yearly, and holds a training/planning retreat every fall to orient and welcome new members.” Sheelah Feinberg, CACF Executive Director.

What do we ask of our members?

We believe: •

In promoting awareness and understanding of the issues impacting children and families from Asian Pacific American communities in NYC.

That we can contribute to the improvement of the well-being of Asian Pacific American children through active community participation.

That engaging and involving various communities through social, cultural and educational events can have far-reaching effects on the Asian Pacific American community.
