Join Community Assistance Center (CAC) for a casual evening of music and pints at our Hops for Hope event on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Southern Star Brewery! Proceeds from event support the various programs and services CAC provides to our neighbors in need all across Montgomery County. At Community Assistance Center (CAC), our mission is to provide resources to meet basic needs and improve the quality of life for our neighbors in Montgomery County. We provide practical solutions while promoting self-sufficiency for county residents threatened by an unexpected crisis while ensuring an inviting, supportive environment. CAC provides financial and basic needs assistance with rent/mortgage assistance, utilities assistance, emergency shelter vouchers, prescription services, back to school assistance, transportation vouchers, food, clothing, education, and disaster recovery. From January through November 2023, CAC has provided over 20,800 services to nearly 14,000 of our neighbors. Community Assistance Center programs are funded by companies and individuals just like you who understand the financial commitment required to support our community during times of need. Community Assistance Center of Montgomery County is thrilled to announce the 2024 Legacy Luncheon benefiting Community Assistance Center, to be held on April 19, 2024 at Margaritaville Lake Conroe Resort. Mimosas and Silent Auction begin at 10:30 a.m. and the event will conclude at 1:00 p.m. The Luncheon serves as a platform to honor individuals, businesses and faith partners in Montgomery County that have committed their time, hearts, resources and talents to serve others in a variety of capacities. This year we welcome Janine Stange. Janine Stange is a motivational speaker, singer, and on-air personality. She is best known for her historic journey to sing the Star-Spangled Banner in all 50 states – a mission she embarked on to honor our brave. Her story is the subject of “National Anthem Girl” a documentary by Kelly’s Filmworks now streaming on Amazon Prime. Using her signature wit and wisdom, Janine Stange motivates people to give back and identify ways to make personal change. Proceeds from this special event support Community Assistance Center (CAC) programs and services that provide immediate basic needs, financial assistance and case management services to residents all across Montgomery County. Community Assistance Center (CAC) invites you to help us Strike Out Hunger with our annual Bowling Tournament benefiting CAC's Client Choice Food Pantry. The tournament will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 1 PM to 4 PM at Main Event The Woodlands. Proceeds from this friendly competition support the nutritional needs of our neighbors all across Montgomery County. A critical focus for Community Assistance Center (CAC), in our efforts to eliminate food insecurity in our community, is the CAC Client Choice Food Pantry, which allows clients the opportunity to choose their own food to fit their personal preferences and special dietary needs, and provides a sense of dignity and respect, all while reducing waste. Other food assistance services provided by CAC include Pop Up Produce Markets, Senior Grocery Delivery, CAC's Summer Stock kids’ food pantry program, and holiday meal distributions. All food pantry assistance services are provided at no cost to our neighbors in need. On average, Community Assistance Center provides over one million pounds of much needed food assistance services each year. CAC's programs are funded by companies and individuals just like you who understand the financial commitment required to provide our neighbors and community the supportive services necessary to thrive.
