Gary is a gay character in the comics series Sukia, which was issued by the Italian publishing house Edifumetto in the 1970s and 1980s alongside two other comics series containing homoerotic content: Rolando del Fico and Macho. Francesc Ruiz took a particular interest in the fact that these comics were produced by heterosexuals and were intended for heterosexual consumption.

At CA2M, Gary takes the form of a secondhand bookstall populated by all the publications the artist has created about Edifumetto’s gay universe. In some of them, Ruiz embodies Gary as he travels to the places in the world where Sukia was translated and distributed. In others, the artist makes the various Edifumetto gay figures meet in specific environments, such as the Giardini at the Venice Biennale, where Ruiz co-represented Spain in 2015.
