Language Imagination

We came up with this idea in a rainy afternoon. Everyone was just resting and chitchatting. And out of no where some of our staff started talking about how some of the pronunciation of foreign languages are similar but in total different meaning in Chinese Mandarin. Here I came up with two: one was the word “bag” sounds like “crested myna” in Chinese, which is a kind of bird. So my idea was to pull the humor out of it so if you say “A clean bag” it may also mean “A clean crested myna” in Chinese. Second, I played with the word “economy” which pronunciation sounds like “depending on the farmers” in Chinese, which was kind of true that the beginning of a country’s economy is depending on the farmers.

Taipei MRT Campaign

This is a project proposal for Taipei City Government in the idea of making the city a better-designed place. The first four images shows the current posters that are displayed on the MRT, which is the subway of Taipei City, and they are rather lacking of unity, as well as the form of design. Therefore, I came up with the idea of two things to redesign them: vibrant colors to catch the public’s eyes; some color background to maintain the consistancy.

Zero Design Style Guide
