Achieving Oneness among Humanity by Barbara Goulding

Humanity can be compared to a large basket of fruits and vegetables. As we are so different and quite the same in many ways. We come in various colors and shapes, yet we have much in common with each other. We can think quite differently from each other but our lives can have so much similarity to the others. We all are in human form having facial features and the physical attributes being quite similar. Yet we tend to keep looking at the outward appearance and focusing on what makes us so different. Why do we do that, and why is that this has to come between us as a whole. We war over simple things less than this, why? How does that make us any better as a group? We have not learned from many years of battles and comparing have we? I think we need to reevaluate how we look at another person. Each of us has something to offer the whole group so why do we make these others feel unwelcome most of the time. So they believe differently so what, why should that matter anyway. We find many ways to catalog these groups of people and differences. We all come from our Creator/God and he/she has not put us into categories so why should we. Our colors and beliefs should not be what matters most here. The way a person thinks or does things should not be the basis for separation. We in our own way ,contribute to this separation and we look at our selves in a similar way don't we. Love should be the reason we talk to each other and visit and share our lives, not violence and hate. Our Creator/God sees beyond our physical forms and knows how we truly feel inside and why shouldn't we look at another as being someone worth getting to know. Each of us has a lot to offer this world and we should not be afraid to share that part of us with the rest of humanity. Fear has taken over our minds and hearts and we are afraid to get to know another human. In what ways are we similar you ask well besides our physical form we all live here on this planet Earth for one. We each need to breathe and eat and work and take care of our family and friends. We share common goals such as being healthy and successful and wanting to be loved and accepted. These are the common desires we all share that don't show separation. The sun rises and sets for all of us no matter where we live. We all are affected by the weather at some point or another too. Natural disasters happen and affect us and it does not discriminate on who you are or where you live. We share a love for nature and animals and a desire to have peace or at least most of us do. And there are financial challenges we all face and that does affect each of us no matter our station in life. We can over come our separation and differences if we desire to make this change. We start by making small changes because it will not happen overnight. All of us can do this if we desire to try. One small effort toward another person such as a kind deed or helping them in some way with a project is a start. If each of us could reach out and help another even just one person what a huge difference that would make in all our lives because the ripple effect it would have all around the planet. We would stop seeing each other as an obstacle or someone we would rather not deal with. We can learn to get along and work together to make our life on Earth a better place and this trend could continue for generations to come. It would make a positive statement to the rest of humanity that we actually do care about others that live here with us.

Peace and Unity would make it's way into our lives on this planet, because we would see another being as important. We would want to make a difference in another's life. We would not be thinking what is in it for me as the Ego would have us feel. Sometimes you have to change the way you view and think. It's a change in your perspective in thinking or a way you think or look at a situation. Try to see things from the other person's view, not many of us take the time to do that. We rush and scurry about with our work and our busy lives that we don't see others around us. Sometimes they ask us for help and we tell them we are too busy to help maybe another time. What happens then is that we start putting people off that could use our help and maybe even one day help us. Are our lives so important that we cannot take a bit of our time to do something for someone else? We are humans on a spiritual journey on the Earth. We did not originate from here. Everyone is different in their own way, it doesn't matter the color or race they are.

My conclusion to this article is that we as the human race need to stop and reevaluate our views of another person. When we greet someone on the street or another comes up to you to ask you something take that moment to interact with them at a personal level. Don't just say what do you want and hurry them off. We tend to act so busy that we feel we do not have the time to interact with others. It doesn't matter what they look like or how they dress or what their beliefs are. They are like us more than we think. You cannot judge a book by it's cover even if it's plain wrapping on it. The content inside could be so good you might not want to stop reading it. The same is with people they might not look interesting enough to talk to but then again they might have some insight you need to hear.
