Farmer John Once upon a time, there was a farmer who owned lots of goats and had a big mango tree in the middle of a farm. Everyday, the farmer known as Farmer John would gather his goats and his dog Rambo, to shelter from the sun under the tree.

Farmer John Builds a Fence One day, the farmer decided to build a fence around the tree for his goats to hide from the sun. He called all his friends and they worked all day. Farmer John offered his friends drinks and sandwiches for lunch, then they relaxed under the lonely mango tree and enjoyed its shades.

Farmer John Builds a Fence Finally the fence was completed and farmer John and Rambo let the goats into their new home. That night, farmer John sat at his door for hours looking at the goats and the tree. Then he said to himself; "I wonder why this stupid mango tree will not bear fruits, it must be old or something."

The Tree Blossoms The next morning, the farmer went down to tree and saw lots of blossoms on the ground. He then turned to Rambo, his dog and said;

"What a stupid tree this is?“

Rambo said; "Ruff Ruff Ruff". The Talking Mango Tree By: Conrad Guthrie 2015

The Tree Blossoms The farmer took some of the blossoms in his Hands and smelled it, then he said; "Smells good, maybe it is going to finally bear, but who wants anything from this stupid tree, it's worthless and useless".

The Tree Bears A few months later, the tree began to bear big, lovely red and yellow mangoes. The goats began to eat the mangoes and so did Betty Little. Wait… who is

Betty Little Betty Little is farmer John’s grand daughter. She is four years old. She is always happy and loves to play with her teddy bear

Betty Little Got Sick The next morning, after eating some of the mangoes, the farmer found some of his goats dead and Betty Little was sick.

Ooohh nooo, Betty Little got sick? Farmer John took Betty Little to the doctor along with her teddy bear name Tigger.

Betty Little Got Sick At the clinic, the doctor whispered something to Farmer John and then he fell to the floor and started crying.

Guess what happened to Betty Little!

Farmer John Got Upset Well, she did not die. Betty Little and Tigger were in bed resting. Farmer John got worried because he didn't know what to do, so he went home, grabbed his machete and began to chop the mango tree in anger.

The Tree Talks Suddenly, while chopping the tree, he heard a voice saying; "You are a miserable and mean old man. For many years I provided shade from the sun for you and your goats, and you did not even say thanks.

The Tree Talks You build a fence around me for the goats, I did not say anything. You wished for mangoes and I gave them to you, and now you come to cut me down. “This is very sad. Why are you doing this me?"

The Tree Talks The farmer fell to the ground and said; How can a mango tree talk, this is impossible! The tree continued talking saying; Betty Little and the goats ate some the wild berries and then ate the mangoes from my branches. That is when your goats got sick and died.

A Lesson to Remember Always remember this story because it teaches you to appreciate the simplest things in life. Do not be quick to judge others. Do not make hasty decisions when you are angry. Do not blame others wrongfully. Always accept when you are wrong.
