Civic Center. This Mardi Gras casual event is the official launch of the Carnival season. All of the local and surrounding krewes gathered for an evening of fun and merriment to eat, drink and introduce their Royal Courts to each other. 1. Centaur Top Royals with their spouses: King Hal Rogers and wife Patty, Captain Ricky Bridges with wife Dana, and Queen Tracey James with husband Randy James 2. The Ark-La-Tex’s newest Krewe, Oceanus, celebrate their first 12th Night. Duke Jason Ward with his dad, Captain Parker Ward 3. John Herrin with wife, Captain of Captains Tracy Herrin 4. Sobek Bal The Krewe of Sobek put on a black-tie affair full of music and merriment at their Grande Bal XVII “Down On Da Bayou,” held at the Shreveport Convention Center. Captain XVII Johann Cooke as “VooDoo Daddy” and CoCaptain Rachal Virgin as “Mistress of VooDoo” rolled into the bayou along with the fog to begin their tableau. Sobek King XVII Doug Sanders and Queen XVII Janet Armand reigned over the night’s festivities.

Elders Bal XXIV Safari Fever The Krewe of Elders Grande Bal XXIV at Cross Lake, with Captain Connie Rivet and Co-Captain Patsy McGee as the guides. The Duke and Duchess of Longevity Gary and Jane Hudson brought cameras to capture the wild animals in their natural habitat, while the Duchess of Prosperity Sherrie Vullo was there to study the arachnids. Queen XXIV Dianne Harmon was as beautiful and graceful as the butterflies she saw on her safari adventure. SBMAG.NET
