Born in Chicago, Illinois during some of the cities highest murder rates, street gangs and poverty stricken neighborhoods, his mother’s decision to relocate him to Lansing, Michigan became a factor in his desire to use creativity while providing a better means for his family. “At the time, I didn’t know what it was… I just knew that what I had witnessed growing up was not what I wanted for my life. I found a way to stay out of the streets with the use of creativity and a drive to succeed. I can attest that music saved me”. OCC Records (Only Come Correct); the indie label launched by Kool Focus is home to some of today’s hottest artists out of the Midwest, including K.F.1 himself who has taken the lead solo artist title for the label. Having already opened up for major artists in Atlanta, Georgia and Miami, Florida, K.F.1 is unstoppable.
