Sweet Success Coming 2020 Junior Herdsman of the Year

ach year at the VitaFerm® Junior National Hereford Expo (JNHE), a junior member is awarded the Junior Herdsman of the Year. Four exceptional members are nominated and voted on during the show. At the 2020 JNHE, Parker Cantrell received the honor of being named the Junior Herdsman of the Year along with a Junior Herdsman belt buckle and a $2,500 scholarship from the Hereford Youth Foundation of America and Sullivan Supply. Cantrell is the 21-year-old son of Michelle and Steven Cantrell. He attends Oklahoma State University (OSU) and calls Collinsville, Okla., home. In 2008, he attended his first JNHE, in Kansas City, Mo., where he was also able to finish his career as a junior Hereford member. Cantrell is studying animal science and agribusiness at OSU and hopes to return home to work on his family’s operation, C3 Cattle Co. “This award would not be possible without the many people who have mentored him over the last 14 years,” Michelle Cantrell says. “Words
